Want to add it to my seat cover on top of the horsehair pads under the new covers.. And, cover under the headliner, doors posts etc with it as well.

Can't find it anywhere anymore, anyone have a simple yardage source for it?

Thanks Tim I know I can find it online... was hoping maybe some one knew a national chain that maybe still sells it. Wanted to recover my seats over the weekend.

I used to get it from a big box store in our area, Menards, in the carpet section, they had it on 72" rolls 1/4" and 1/2" on hand and they would just cut you off a chunk and it was cheap (under $10 a yard). They still carry it but is custom order only and ya have to buy the entire full 100' roll. After there went by two local fabric stores and all they had was hard extruded high density foam

Guess maybe I give a call around to a couple local carpet stores Friday and maybe one of them might carry it. If not I guess I'll have no choice but to order it.

FWIW, I stumbled across a very close match for the original jute in my 63 at U-HAUL. It looks quite blue in this picture but it's a grey color in person.

I bought the padding kit for the headliner in my bug and I got a bunch of lame ass foam and a thin hard "jute" roof pad from Wolfsburg West. I removed the old original jute pad and now I can't find any. The stuff sold here in the US is not correct, it is hard and bound in some way. I want the soft padding that you can tear and stretch and it is made of floor sweepings from a textile factory. I see it for sale on Ebay UK as Needled felt, and it is sold as upholstery padding like I want. All I find here is foam padding and it sucks! Mad
This is the right stuff, but where is it for sale in the US?

Seven years ago we were evacuated due to forest fire. When I returned to work at my school I found that the Red Cross had left a large box full of gray loosely woven wool felt blankets. I used the stuff successfully on my Kombi middle seat...
