If you have, I would greatly appreciate it if you could leave a review and give it some stars (takes a few seconds) |
Takes just a few seconds to pass on your knowledge to help a fellow ACVW bus pilot with a question on The Samba too I wish you well with the book and stuff. And look forward to viewing those newer episodes you produced when I get a chance. They look promising. Happy holidays to you and Leah. Leah is one seriously cool lady. Be well. _________________ Keep on Busin'

I read it and enjoyed it. You hadn't enabled reviews yet so I didn't review it. I may re- read and review given the time. _________________ If you haven't bled on them, you haven't worked on them.

Thanks Kevin. I'm doing my best to pass on what I know as best I can - mostly that will be via articles, blog posts, ebooks and videos, not many of which will be on the subject of how to keep you VW alive though. As mentioned previously, I feel there are other people better suited to this so I will stick to what Iknow and what I can add value to. _________________ Around The World in a VW - Follow the Docuseries

Really enjoyed both recent installments. That is the kind of real deal interview that sums up common challenges in travel. It also confirms that (from my point of view) its not the kind of travel a middle age (or older) person would enjoy. Getting hassled / ripped-off on a regular basis generally is not an experience you have once your older and have a bit more money/social status in first world climates (except for dangerous urban centers). There is a certain energy required to have your wits about you constantly and that fades with time. It is an adventure for young ( I did more than my fair share). Very illuminating work, keep it up! I know you what you mean. It does get tiring. For me, it's not so much the crooks that bother me, but more having to barter for every little thing with the locals that really drains me. It became easier on this journey than the my previous travels because I learnt to speak Spanish and could at least communicate, but when you can't you are likely to get ripped off every time you open your wallet. _________________ Around The World in a VW - Follow the Docuseries

Attitude is everything and life is what you make of it...you really got that across well in the interview(s). I'm currently traveling in Italy (saw the cool Bus's at VWKombibus in Florence Italy) and I have to check my head not get negative with the crowds/beggars. Lack of bathrooms becomes a real issue as you get older and that can make you cranky, quick. I would love to hear how you deal with food/water dangers to remain healthy. _________________ Fat chick owner/operator |

Thanks. Italy! Jealous! Can definitely relate about the lack of toilet situation. Thanks for the suggestion - that would make for a good video topic for the adventure experts series. we'll add to to this list and we'll be on the look out for a suitable adventure expert to speak with.
Thanks again *and merry christmas

I don't think overlanding is possible in Europe anymore. It would be more like urbancrawling at low speeds, lots of corner dents. This could make for an interesting adventure if you could survive the car exhaust. There are many E-charging stations here now, an Electric Bus might be a fun ,consciousness raising, journey. How far can one go on a charge? Is it free or small cost? Can you camp where you charge up? Can you vend while you charge? Instead of beach surfing, you do crowd surfing in super crowded public squares and train stations! Create your own line of "knock-off" Kombi-life shirts (slightly lower quality than the on-line version) and sell them on the promenade in coastal towns . You will be competing with hoards of refugees selling shoes and handbags, but that could lead to interesting interviews (the mostly speak some English). OK, I'll stop..just my stream of thought ideas before I go to lunch and drink too much kick-ass Italian wines. Keep posting! _________________ Fat chick owner/operator |

How are you going to travel through California if you gave the Bus away to the lucky winner? _________________ Eric

Thank you, yes all the videos that I will post here will be the remainder of the Hasta Alaska episodes that we had filmed but had not had chance to produce yet. There will be quite a few. I'm working full time on the editing at the moment so hopefully they will all be done by mid 2017. _________________ Around The World in a VW - Follow the Docuseries
