Did you get the idea from/read Herman Zapp's book, Spark your Dream? (they went on their first trip, from Argentina, to Alaska, in a 1928 Page-Graham)
What was the inspiration? |

I just knew that I wouldn't regret going so at the point where I had to decided between starting a mortgage and all that or go traveling I just went traveling.
I happened upon a VW Bus in Chile more by accident than anything..and well, I'm kind of committed now, so I am going to see it through.

Awesome. There's not much that makes me me miss home, other than the north coast and the red woods. From there on North, should all be rediculously beautiful travels. Glad the bus is running good for you. Keep it up, have fun travel safe.

I would just recommend sticking to the coast as much as possible. Portland is an awesome city to check out. Full of cool people. Beyond that, I don't really know of any attractions. It seems like you're pretty get at finding a way and meeting good people. I know that there are a lot of folks on here up in Washington. Maybe they can chime in and give you some tips... By the way, I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't envious of you and the experience that you're having. Enjoy it!

Ben, being in the northwest must be culture-shock-ish after all your time in central and south Americas. What's your plan? Driving all the way or are you considering the inside passage? |

I like Hiway 97 thru Bend etc. You've been seeing plenty of Ocean so far. Howard Hugh's 'Spruce Goose' is at McMinnville also. _________________ https://imgur.com/user/FisherSquareback/posts

Yeah man I think I am going to Crater Lake then Bend, I'm sad to miss the ocean for a bit though but to be honest I only have a 4:3 wetsuit and it isn't enough for these ocean temps. Looking for a suit now.
Here is this week's vlog, check it out.

Ben,
Just recently found your videos here and on youtube. Very entertaining with all of the travels and adventures you have made with new local friends, Sharne and Alaska. How can you not enjoy a travel video with good music, an adventurous guy, beautiful gal and an entertaining and cute dog. And not to forget a vw camper.
Wish I would have found your videos sooner, in time to catch you in person as you traveled thru California.
Good luck on your future adventures.
Dave
