Lowering my Type 3 using the outer splines

You Dont Have To

all you have to do is take the opposing bolt out and once you get it out either
Push/Pull it up/down where you want it +/-3




Can anybody shed some light on which opposing bolt???

The top bolt on the opposite end of the beam holds the torsion bar in place. The splines on the opposite end are known as inner splines. The splines on the torsion bar arm end are known as outer splines. I find it easiest to raise/lower the front end using the inner splines leaving the arm in place on the torsion bar, but you can change splines on both ends.

Because not everyone wants to do an inner spline drop, or they want to fine tune the ride height. Plus, IF you strip the threads off the ball joint retaining bolt (very easy to do), you're screwed, as it's a special bolt. Shocked
