Day 305
Took a look at what is going on with the clutch today. I got under the car and had my wife push the pedal. Nothing happened at the trans until all the free play was gone. I assumed that the clutch pedal hook was worn. I took the whole pedal cluster out and didn't find any real ware. It may have been an issue with the Bowden tube. I added some washers to it to get more of a bend and readjusted the free play to the correct amount. We will have to see how it goes. _________________ Project 66 Daily Driver http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=538786&highlight=

Day 312
Being on vacation we plan to turn some more miles on ol A- Bomb. After a trip blueberry picking at a local farm we took a trip to Bigalow Hollow State Park for a family picnic. I was originally planning to go swimming at Mashapaug lake but the parking lot was already full before we got there. We did manage to find a little spot to swim at Bigalow, not my top choice for swimming but it was hot! If I didn’t bring the flippers and diving mask I wouldn’t have gone as far as I did. Flippers so I can go really really fast when something touches me and the diving mask so I can see it Of course it was all fun and games till we saw a snake there then we moved to another table.
And a stop at Dunken Donuts for ice coffee on the way home.

Day 319
We took another trip up to Townshend area of Vermont with a stop in Brattleboro on the way. It seems the gas I got up there was better than when I filled up on the CT / MA border. The best I’ve been able to get the gas gage to work on this car is it says half when full but doesn’t move till about 100 miles or so then when at ¼ it is just that. The pump in MA stopped at two gallons it looked like it was full but before I hit 100 miles it was already at ¼ tank. I filled up again up there, did some more driving around then came back and the needle hasn’t moved yet.
Day 320
I got the parts in recently for replacing the tie rode ends on the driver’s side. I had an issue recently with the outer loosening up. I tried to cheat and made a jig for the whole tie rod in hopes that I wouldn’t have to realign the front end. I ended up realigning it anyway it wasn’t even close. I decided to go with the greaseable ends this time. We will see how they work out. Heko en E.U.A.

11 months
Well I was originally planning on a real short mileage week because I was back to work this week and I didn’t want to get gas again. I even stole some gas from Herbie and the lawn tractor, well took the gas back from the tractor anyway but we took that trip on day 328 to the drive in. 128 miles total this week anyway. Today was a lot of driving to and from the Terriville show but that’s week 49;).

Day 334
The sunrise on the way to work and another oil change. This is just before the road I got the other nice sunrise shot back in June. I wish it were a little clearer but it was really too dark for that setting on the camera and like usual I'm pressed for time. Asking the 49 year old car to deliver like a modern vehicle again;) on the down side it is a sign that the days are getting shorter. It's usually brighter at that time........
The shot from June.
last oil change for daily driving.

Week 49
The other day I took the pedal cluster out again. I’m still trying to figure out the issue with the clutch. I thought I had another good cable but it’s the wrong size so I just greased it all up and reassembled. I did add another washer to the boden tube. Seems to work OK. The big trip this week was the Terriville Bug A Fair on Day 332. Other than that just to and from work with a couple stops to the public library and DD. Still I managed to put 131 miles on and we took the truck instead to Vermont for some camping during the weekend.

a couple more sunrise shots. My drive to work this week has looked like this almost everyday. I do see its just a little bit darker though.
Day 345
Another trip to the local apple farm and some of the adventures in getting there. one road ends and the GPS says to go another .55 miles through the woods. We ran into this last time but I wanted to get this picture so we took the slight detour.
some dirt road driving to get there.
