well, for the quality of the work and parts so far, I can live with it. I have wanted to do one of these engines for quite a while. I know there will be people that will say that I wont be able to tell the difference...I dont know and really dont care, Im having a good time doing it so far. To date with the purchase of all the parts and labor, I think Im just about at 4500 even. _________________ 58 Beetle (now just a pile of parts in the corner)

and of course, there is still plenty to buy... a good set of heads, exhaust system for the turbo setup, some type of FI setup, and a trans to hold it. But hey, it should be a fun ride. _________________ 58 Beetle (now just a pile of parts in the corner)

Those heads look like the right ticket!
Quick question, please don't take as a condescending comment but I noticed that people porting VW heads use between what looks like Crayola's to sharpie pens to mark up their ports, anything except for blue Dykem. Why is that? _________________ Jesse

Dykem comes in other colors than blue...probably comes down to either personal preference, or whatever color is within arms-reach of the register at your hardware shop (at least for me...). _________________

Why not just make a custom set of wires with a Y splice in them. Then you could just run one distributor. |

He said normally a bit over 200 with this type of port. Although with a turbo, once you are under boost, I think any head will move some good amounts of air _________________ 58 Beetle (now just a pile of parts in the corner)
