Hello the samba,
I got some dual carbs and have them almost all set up. I need to know if you put 2 different fuel hoses from the fuel pump for each carb. Or do you do it another way? If someone can help me out. I would be thankful. |

You didn't mention which model dual carbs you were running?
In general, most people will add a T-connector into the fuel pump output line and run separate fuel lines to each carb. If you have Webers or Delortos that came with a dual fitting on one of the carbs, you could run one hose from the pump to this carb and another between the carbs.
While not a VW install, this pic beautifully illustrates the point of connecting the fuel line in series:

It came with a T shaped adapter. So do I make a little hose from fuel pump, then it goes to the Double adapter, then ine to each carb. |

Pretty much from the fuel pump to the T, then a line to each carb. Nothing fancy. Make sure that your pump pressure is compatible with your carbs. _________________ D-Dubya Manx clone - 63 Short pan,1914.

A lot of us run a fuel pressure regulator with a gauge. The regulator becomes the T because it has one inlet and two outlets. Its the safest, most useful way to me. Are you running a stock fuel pump or electric. _________________ 79 super Vert

I honestly do not know if its electric or not. But I did the T way and have some problems now. First is my carbs are popping and will not idle. Is there caused by un synced carbs? Also, I have all the fuel lines hooked up and now there is gas leaking from the left of the bottom of the car. Is this caused by something easy like a loose hose clamp? Please help me out. I don't know what to do and I am thinking about towing it somewhere. |

First, my disclaimer.......I am not an expert, just another VW owner who has dual Weber 34 ICT's, of which your carbs are clones.
The carbs have to be synchronized. This is done with a synch tool and the linkage disconnected. Popping can also be caused by the timing being off. Another cause is vacuum leaks. With the engine running, spray all around the carbs and intakes with carburetor cleaner. Any change indicates a leak that must be corrected.
Hope this gives you a place upon which to start. _________________ I'm not losing my hair, it's just retired and relocating further south.

Ok I had a friend who is really good with cars look at it. The reason why the carb was leaking gas is the floater wasn't floating to stop gas at the correct limit. Causing flooding. My friend fixed it no problem. The popping was from a spark plug error and is fixed. Now I need to figure out how to connect my throttle cable correctly and I think I need to adjust the idle mixer screw because it seems to be drawing in way to much gas and loosing power because of it. |

Suggestion - either post what kind of carbs you have or do a search for set up for your particular carbs. Not too many carbs are plug and play. _________________ D-Dubya Manx clone - 63 Short pan,1914.

From reading his other threads (which have been locked, we will continue here) he has the Weber 34 ICT clones made by EMPI, the 34 EPC's.
Here is CB Performance's 34 ICT installation guide:

Ok I am super close to being done now but I need to know how to connect the throttle cable the correct way. I tried and was pretty sure it was wrong and it had a big lag on the time for it to come back. Here is a photo. To the bottom is the 2 pieces I need. To the top are extra parts incase one of those is for the throttle to. Let me know thanks.

You usually have to cut you cable and install the extender piece supplied with the kit,
You didn't get the instruction sheet?
from the looks of the picture in that other locked thread you missed quite a few pieces. _________________ 1972 1302

It did come with instructions and it did mention cutting. I just don't understand the instructions because its not very clear. Also When I push throttle on carbs, they don't go all the way back up. Is this caused by a bad spring, tighten nut, or some kind of gunk blocking it from going back on its own? Sorry if I am asking nooby questions, I am 16 and have no car experience except for the few months I have been working on my bug. |

There are return spring holders you need to use, they are unused in your pic, gold colored.
There are springs that go in your hex bar brackets, they act as a bearing and are unused in your pic.
You need to put those black rubber plugs on your vacuum ports.
EMPI got your money with shiny promises of speed and chrome, it's up to you to make them work.
search "installing Weber ICT's" here and on Google and read up.
They are not bad carbs, I liked mine when I had 'em and the new owner seems pleased also. _________________ 1972 1302

Thank you for the help. So do you mean the 2 identical springs. How do they go in my hex bar. Like in between the ball end and the holder? |

Yes, they give a little flex and play to the hex bar, makes it "float" smoothly. _________________ 1972 1302

I did that after taking the picture. We are talking about the only 2 springs in the photo right. Also what do I do with the gold pieces? Thanks for the help |

Ohh I think I know what you mean. You use the springs on the gold pieces. Ok now were does the gold piece mount on to? |

you have to figure that out,
you want the return springs to go "across' not up and down.
the little brackets should go on with the same bolts that hold on the hex bar brackets.
hard to explain without pictures and I just don't have any. _________________ 1972 1302

Ok well I am still not for sure about it. I also heard a tighten shaft nut will cause that too. I am having my friend who is really good at old cars look at it tomorrow and he will probably get it all ready fr me to drive. Thanks for the help I will let you know how it goes and if I have any questions. |
