|

Anything below 15 degrees, and my van lets its displeasure be known.
At startup, the power steering pump sounds like it is churning bolts (goes away after 5 seconds)
My new Koni's squeak something ridiculous.
Warm-up time is at least double of normal. Just replaced the thermostat with no change, though I am running a no pressure cap if that matters (it seems to).
Not cold related - over some off camber bumps, my van has always made the sound of sheet metal being bumped when the rear wheels hit. Anyone else experience this? Is it the van flexing? _________________ 2015 VW GTi Autobahn

your rear spring perchs are probably rusted nearly thru and will release your rear spring soon.. might want to jack it up and remove the shock & spring to inspect..

Thanks for the idea on the perches. I've recently had the springs and shocks off; everything is very solid and rust free.
By off camber, consider a turn into a parking lot from the street. The lot is higher than the street and also has a slight curb. So as you turn, the van's tires all encounter the curb and incline at different times (twisting the van). This is the only time I hear the sound. Comes from a lower area in the back of the van, and only when a rear tire compresses. _________________ 2015 VW GTi Autobahn

Looks like my rear Weitec spring has been broken all this time! Interestingly, my ride height has been and is identical on both sides. I have a call into Van-Cafe; the spring is really digging into the perch.

The spring perch is still very solid; the rubber/plastic disc is hurting.
What are the chances of purchasing just a rear spring? _________________ 2015 VW GTi Autobahn

And single Weitec, unlikely, unless a vendor has a incomplete set hanging around.
I have a brand new set I will sell for a little less than retail.
PM me. |
