Not a bug spray, got this with a bunch of VW parts. Anyone know what it is for? History?
Thanks

Looks a lot like the carb on a 56 T-bird we work on at the shop. try a google search on it and see if it matches. It's been a while since I've seen the car (TG) so can't say for sure, but I do remember the float bowl being on top like that.

When those were sold they WERE called "bug spray" I think, but as you can see it is quite different than the usual. The floating float bowl is supposed to be good for g-force resistance and helped to prevent dirt in the jets(good for off-road)
This guy still has the box

Ford flatheads used std carb with filter attached same as one modified 4 bugs,, this where it originated, Stromberg 94' ''97's , very similar style, were used on many multiple carb engines of all brands, this particular style not as air cleaner sits down over & covers a lot of carb top half, used 4 yrsneeding hood clearance. |

Already been determined it is a Holley BUGGY Spay. Didn't see any earthly reason to throw it out so it's on the way to it's new owner! _________________ DDC racing |

I had a Holley Bug Spray I bought new in '73, and it didn't look anything like that carb. _________________ 1973 Karmann Ghia

Back in the late 60's or very early 70's had a dune buggy I built with a 40hp and the Bug Spray Holly 300 on it. Did not look like the pictures shown.
Car ran stronger after changing to the 83BB kit.
Having the Kit body and being light the power was sufficient for those days. |

Some of you seem to be missing a critical part of the names, Bug vs: Buggy, different name for a completely different carb. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

I had mine on a '69 bug with a header and 009, and bought them all at the JC Penny's auto center. It ran great. _________________ 1973 Karmann Ghia
