I figured I'd show everyone what Jason and I have been working on in our spare time...lol. It's a 1970's Hill Engineering T Buggy. I've been doing a bunch of research and can only find a hand full of these that still exist..this one sits on a full lenght bug pan and has the option hard top as well..the goal was just to build a cool retro look and feel dune buggy....I've known about this one for about 3 or 4 years now, it was sitting behind a friend of mine's house and I knew he was never going to do anything with it....well after years of buggin him (no pun intended) I finally got him to sell it to me, it was more than I wanted to pay...but I knew this was going to be a stand out vehicle. I came up on a runner driver 76 bug for cheap to grab the needed running gear from and the transformation started....

Some new shoes, a 3 inch body lift and 3 heavy coats of clear after giving the original gel coat a good sanding to make it smooth

If you are ever thinking about putting bug seats in a Dune Buggy....what a PITA, super lucky to have Jason around with his mad fabrication skills, these seats got chopped, cut, rebuilt all custom fitted..lots of hours.

The seat covers are custom made by Premier Auto Upholstery here in town...we used some 77-79 Westy plaid with the fat biscuit design and 65 Mustang Vinyl on the outside to give it that real retro flavor.

You know how it is, can't show you all the details till it hit the shows...ok well here is one from last night...after 3 very late nights working on it this week we will have the car crusing around BOR 70..come on by the TRP Swap Spot and check it out in person...we will also be having a HUGE parts blow out sale too!!!

Yeah there was a mess of one for sale in the Classifieds a while back, but I think it was a clone without the "Ford" pressing on the rear of the bed.

LOL...yeah Tones isn't too bright sometimes..he got over it after a few beers.

I will have to get a video of the horns, it's super loud air horn and busts out the General Lee Dixieland theme song.

Worth? Like all things whatever someone will pay...this one was real complete with the top and the motor cover which are both unobtainable, original sparkle steering wheel, side mirrors, and front bumper..I paid more than I should have ($1500.00) for the body on a junk roller pan.

This past weekend we loaded up BugTruck and headed down to the Solvang Vintage Treffen...of course we had to stop at the world famous Pismo beach for a little fun in the Sand.

(For those of you who might try and get all crazy about the Buggy Whip Flag...simmer down I'm a huge Dukes of Hazzard Fan/Collector and we have installed a airhorn that plays the General Lee Horn Sound...it's all part of the Theme)
