5000 wow that sounds like a lot all I know is those damn things are so hard to find I would have to say for anyone that likes to hunt for buses the ultimate goal would be to find a 23 window barndoor I have talk to a few Veterans bus hunters and they tell me in the early 80' they were out there to be found but if there a rusty they were probably cut up for parts no one would of ever predicted the value of them today ... someday I'm gonna buy myself a DeLorean and go back to the future and go to all the scrap yards and save them.. |
Back in 1990 when I used to frequent local scrap yards to get parts for my rusty 1980 Honda Civic, there was a yard that had a row of those old busses. They were considered waterproof, so they were being used to store engines and transmissions. The yard later crushed them. There must have been about eight or ten of them there. Kind of sad to realize now what they'd be worth if they had been kept. _________________ 1986 westfalia auto 1.9TD
