Paul & I went over the bus last Saturday & decided to get the frontend support repaired & fitit is reflected Ied. Paul, with his attention to detail, noticed the indentions on the early support were supposed to be flat, so he got those sorted out.
The early floor quarter did not have the tabs around the clutch pedal hole either, (we addressed that also)
We drove to the garage around 6 or so, & what seemed like an hour later we were leaving around 5.
What a great day but time flies when you're having fun!
Here's a few pics...
Paul also looked at all the places that was down to og westfalia paint on the bus & made a decision on the paint scheme.
I love working on this old bus! |

The metal on the "v" of the nose is beat up pretty bad.
It's gonna take some doing to get it close for sure.
Every cavity will have 2 coats of epoxy primer that closes up.

Do you know what the original color is on the exterior of the hatch? |
Here are a couple pics of my hatch.
Are the screws used on the wood panel the same as the front door screws w/o the washers?
The po decided it was a good idea to replace the screws with pop-rivits.
Anyone have an idea how to remove these rivits w/o leaving part of the rivit on the inside of the hatch?

Doug, thanks for sharing pics of your hatch - I see the PG paint - just another indicator that the sub-hatch on my bus was not DB.
I cannot help you with the rivets, I would hate to drill them out and then have the backs of them rattling in the hatch.
here are pics of the front door panel screws and the sub-hatch screws. As you can see they are a lot small on the hatch as well as brass in color. the same material as the long and cargo door panels.

It sure looks like the front two are snapped to the post and the ones further back are snapped to each other. Do they correspond to those little round marks in this image?: _________________ Jack Stenner

From camping in mine this weekend I can tell you that having the two side curtains snap to each other would be a huge benefit, otherwise they like to stay scrunched up from the being in the curtain straps. Not sure on how this might be different on buses with the long curtain rod, presume it would still be beneficial. Also without a bungee like so23 and later curtains had, they hang out away from the window a bit. |

Lower valance looks nice.
Any fitment issues with the funky green? _________________ WANTED:

Thanks Stocknazi, the best answer I can give you is you always have fitment issues. Sometimes, for whatever reason, panels fit a little better than others. The green metal & what little AC metal I've used proves to me that both manufacturers actually want the panel to be close for the customer. WW metal is horrible, even their rockers. The black panels are even worse.
This nose will turn out as good as the 21 did if not better. _________________ Looking for SO34 parts.

I have been busy working on the bus and not posting in the thread. I am sure I am like most and would rather work on the bus than post in the thread.
Here are some pics of the tent for my bus. I am in the process of getting the fabric reproduced.
I am in desperate need of 4 tent poles. I have 4 of the 8.
here is what I have

I'm unable to sleep since I'm heading to OCTO in the morning and am like a kid on Christmas Eve.
So...I looked through the interwebs for tent canvas to match your tent.
Bad news is that nobody seems to have your style fabric.
Best I could find is this:

I'll keep looking. _________________ Founder and Chairman Emeritus, ECMSAS
