Had a little time to strip today... My roof that is bought a 3m fiber stripping wheel and threw it on my drill and went to town, then finish sanded it with 80 grit. A little more bondo and the roof will be ready for primer along with the front fenders, hood and doors, just have to wait for the weather to get warm, which could be a while
Almost done!
Done! My arms will be hurting tomorrow |

Little more bondo slinging today also put some seam sealer on the left inner quarter panel and undercoated the whole thing, should be good to go, I'll probably drop the motor this summer and get everything in the engine compartment cleaned up and painted but it's good to make progress:) if I'm lucky I'll be able to prime the hood and roof tomorrow, but I'm not holding my breath
Had a little help too

It wouldn't hurt to wipe on some Rust-Prep etc phosphoric acid to kill the rust before you primer it. _________________ https://imgur.com/user/FisherSquareback/posts

Been taking advantage of the warm weather! Got some more bodywork done and broke in the new paint gun and shot some primer! Only had enough to do the hood with the leftover stuff my dad had but it's better than nothing it feels great to have one panel done, only 10 more to go...

Wow I can't believe It's almost been two years since I last posted! (Sorry it took so long monte )So a little update: had another beautiful baby girl, moved to a bigger house, and the square has been in the back burner lately, but I have big plans to fast track my 66 this summer. Got the roof primed up and re worked the doors and hope to get them under primer when the weather gets warm. Left front fender needs a small rust patch which will be much easier to do now that I have my own welder! And the right is 99 percent ready for primer. Big picture is to finally sling some paint this summer I will shoot some pictures of the current progress and post em' up tomorrow! _________________ "Donnie, you're out of your element!" |

Here is some pictures from how she sits. I got the roof primed up before the move and almost have the doors and fenders ready for primer.

Making some good progress there. I do have to ask if you're aware the doors are from later models as the earlies such as a 66 had the separate keyhole from the door handle. Just asking as it threw me off.
Your shell looks like it didn't have much to get handled on it. That's a timesaver! Glad you're sticking with it. Keep at it AND congrats on your new addition to your family! _________________ MonT3

So all the body panels are from a 69 donor car because they were super straight and almost zero rust, my dad even welded up the fuel door on the right fender because my filler neck is under the hood. Even though I really liked the push button handles on the 66 doors, I went with the doors that needed less work! As for the shell, I've put a ton of metal work into the wheel wells and rockers, so it just looks like I haven't had to do much with that the only original 1966 body panels are the rear hatch and rear apron _________________ "Donnie, you're out of your element!" |

Just for the hell of it I did a quick fit of the door and fender, and also because I don't have much room to put stuff...

Had time to work on the driver door, she will definitely be straighter than from the factory! Started filling in the seams on the drivers rocker as well chipping away boys!

Looks good. You're gaining on it. It won't be long until you have all the panels ready for paint and on the car. Nice going, and way to go on kicking butt. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

Hey thanks guys, I'm just trying to stay motivated as much as possible:) I have noticed something though, the black e-coating on my replacement rockers is garbage and I am sanding all of it off
for how expensive they are you would think the stuff would be better, I could literally take my blow gun to it and take some of it off! So anyone who buys them be sure to strip it off and put better stuff on! _________________ "Donnie, you're out of your element!" |

Just so you know, that black "e-coat" is only to prevent rusting while sitting on the shelf. It's not a real primer. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

Bob, I do realize that it is just to prevent rust but I thought it would be a bit more durable:) I guess I'm used to the stuff they put on replacement parts for modern cars cuz we just scuffed those baby's up , sealed them and painted them! Not the case with these rockers _________________ "Donnie, you're out of your element!" |
