Short story long, I sold my street rail because my wife could no longer get into it (hurt her back). I took a straight '74 and a rolled '64 in trade. The '74 is getting resto modded and keeping the 1600. The '64 will get a rebuilt/straightened pan and a body of some type (I like just about everything). So here is the beginning of the journey. It will take lots of time because $$$ is in short supply lol.

Lots of good stuff. After I cut away the roof I placed a battery in the tray, checked the oil and turned the key. The fisher built 1914 screamed to life and sent me down the street!!!!! The pan appears a bit tweaked and the brand spanking new narrowed front end might need a new lower left control arm. Wheels are straight except for one. But I can pound that lip out, very slight bend... The tranny shifts well but is a little hard to find gears, i guessing tweaked pan. I'll fix it when I shorten it.
He rolled it four times while reaching for a dropped cell phone... Yikes! Five days in the ICU but is doing very well now.. Very nice guy btw. _________________ MAGIC SMOKE. From the first picture, I thought the car's 'chute failed to deploy! Looks like the aftermath of a failed LAPES drop from the tail end of a C130.
People do walk away from the worst wrecks. My wife broke her neck, back, one shoulder and a wrist in a bad accident 12 years ago. She moves a little slower, but thankfully still alive and kickin'. |

Lol, c130 drop... Too funny! Yikes! Glad to hear she is doing well, that's quite a bit of trauma she sustained.
Side note, I'm looking for a body, not sure what style yet.. I love the speedster body but my finances are steering my choices to a lower price point.. I may go with a full length dune buggy body and reshape the fenders to hug the wheels tightly. Again, I'm not sure what direction I want to go in. Money is low but time (as far as I know) is plenty. I enjoy fabricating.
I drove the pan the other day... Wicked engine and a very grippy clutch! _________________ MAGIC SMOKE. The mysterious internal component of all electrical parts that allows them to work. If you let it out, the part will no longer work and could start a fire

Olmer, You're obviously talented, motivated and not afraid of a challenge. If I had your talents, I'd make a body buck and shape some aluminum to fit on this pan. Rivets are cool and fit all budgets.

If I'm not mistaken, Jay Leno owns this "Flying Bridge" Bus. _________________ "I still say that theoretically what we really need here is a neutron flux high enough to bypass the gaps of instability."

I don't think he owns it but it was on his garage show.
Too bad you chopped up that bug. Up in Illinois that was a mint condition car!
