Too bad that's financially unfeasible for me right now.

My stepdad up in washington built this one, it's a 61 lakewood. He wanted me to paint flames on it so I told him to make it black and I would do the rest. 7 hours later this is what it looked like....

^That's my mom's convertible in the foreground. Between my mom and stepdad up in washington, and my grandpa down here, there are 8 corvairs in the family, down from 11 2 years ago. My stepdad got into volkswagens and eventually it became contagious.

As a side note, he bought the car for 1000 bucks, painted it black, I put the flames on it, and he sold it on ebay for 4100 lolz

My first car was a mint 1960 4dr Corvair, 2pd powerglide. It was slow and broke a lot. Can't say I'll want another.

There is a Corvair 2 dr hardtop sitting in a field out by my house. I have been meaning to stop by and see if it is for sale.

I have always wanted a Corvair pickup.

It's not for me, but I found this on CL and I thought it was interesting:

1964 Coorvair Spyder Turbo Coupe - $850 (Trent, SD)

1964 Corvair Spyder Chevrolet fuel : gas transmission : manual title status : clean

Nice body complete engine and turbo less air cleaner. Nice factory turbo dash needs front floor in parts. It has a 4 speed standard. The motor turns over nicely.

https://auto.ricardo.ch/kaufen/fahrzeuge/autos/cab...split=rwdb

it is at least street legal.

the last one like this(years ago) was half the price and on the west coast of france, i never did get a reply from the seller.

The Corvair is a little higher than you would pay in the US, but not bad - didnt realize how close the franc and dollar were these days. My wife was just there a in October.

There is a sweet show every year here in MA at a chocolate factory. Heberts I think...
It's an All Air Cooled show and there are always a bunch of Corvairs there, sometimes a few Corvans. Very cool and yes, I believe there is a significant crossover between the two crowds. Most have owned one or the other at some time.
