Dan,
I was going through the piles of crap at the old shop and came across a surprise for you.
The rear bumper from your bus!
Are you going to CTS?
I could bring it along.

Yes yes and yes. Think it will fit in the Subaru with a transmission? If not, I think one of the guys can take it back to DC?

Are you or any of the DC boys going to Mannheim on April 26th?
I could bring it there.

Big shout out to Lance who came over and helped my lift the beam into place, with two people it only took 10min for us to get it into place.

Any advice on how to get the inner spacer on?

Next is brake shoes, install shocks, and put the drums on. I spent most of my day hammering out the racers and installing new ones.

Brass drift or piece of tubing... same way you'd install a rear wheel bearing Wink

Is this after market or did vw contract out steering boxes? Anyone know what this is?

They came out pretty good. Russ suggested that when I put them on the bus for the first time, to turn the lugs on and off a few times to rough up the power coating. This helps the lugs stay on and don't come off, sounds logical to me. I may sand the lug areas a little bit to speed up the process.

ATE was a manufacturer

You don't see them as often as the aluminum covered boxes

Looking great Dan!
I hope you have a jar of anti sieze for all those assemblies you're assembling.
I went through one full container of NAPA copper anti sieze when I did my bus last year.
