|
|
Hi guys I'm thinking of a possible reside to my rail because most of my wires in it change 3 different colors from point a to b and I want to add a fuse panel and such what's the best way to do it?
Buy a bunch of single rolls in different colors? Or a wiring harness?
Also I hear of guys running the wires through the tubes how is this done? Do you have to drill holes in the tube to feed it down and through?
Thanks |

Depending on number of wires involved in "rewire" it may be economical to just buy rolls of wire.... Most harness kits are for full bodied dune buggies or cars..... And may have lots of left over wires, but flip side is they will have everything you need and every wire is labeled with what its for...
To put wires inside frame tubes, yes you have to drill holes in tubes and insulate holes with grommets, problem here is it becomes a structural issue as hole get bigger for more wires it becomes a point of failure....
Having wires external is better way to go as you will always have access to them if you need to fix/change something... IF you want pretty, there is plastic split tubing to cover harness....
Of you are going to "roll your own" harness.... Suggest you buy bulk wire, connectors and split loom at some place like Del City or Waytek Wire... Pricing will be better usually better quality "stuff"and trying to piece something together with limited lengths of wire and funky FLAPS parts is going to be very expensive and drive you nuts...
One option may be to get a roll of all one color wire and use numbered markers to designate what wire is what....

Look around sites they have way more cool stuff than local FLAPS
Also a good resource..

What do they make for tags to I'd the wire?
Also what size wire to run for most everything? And what about the thrifty spools in 25 foot multiple colors? |
