Could be a real one someone added the front scoops to. Check to see if there is a business card glassed in behind the dash. Pictures of the 2 clones I have seen dont have the scoops on the front or the smooth rear. |

I hate to tell you this but you are HOOKED. Fiberglass is like crack, the more you get, the more you just gatta have!! _________________ I'd rather be an hour early than 5 minutes late. (Mine)

Sorry, been a couple days. I looks like they scoops were added to cover the gas tank bolts. Kinda strange. I replaced the glass tube fuse box with a flat fuse style, and found the original paint was black with a LOT of silver sparkle in it, like 10x more than a car with a lot of the sparkle in the paint. I'll look for the business card thing on the dash in a day or two.
Went on a 100 mile ride, lost the throw out bearing and headlights. Then a tire. My buddy drive the 100 miles twice to help me out. Maybe a two hour repair job in the hotel parking lot to change the clutch out.
I have different rims on it already, I'll take newer pics when I get a chance. As for the fiberglass crack thing. I started rebuilding a buggy a few years ago, and lost interest when I found the condition of the floors, so I postponed it. Now I found this, I have the platform to put my buggy body on. Classic Manx style, instead of the bat buggy.... |

Here is a pic of my buggy before I sold it. Now I am also working on a classic style Manx buggy as well.

A real Jeffries Kyote is every bit as desirable as a real Meyers Manx. One of the few completely original 60s buggy designs and fairly rare. If you mount the headlights like they were designed to be and change the bumper and paint, it could look great.
Driftin's buggy is an Ocelot SS, not a Kyote. |

I really doubt this is anything more than a shoddy replice. It has a wooden dashboard, coverd with fiberglass, and a make shift plywood rear wing to make room for an airfilter. It's painted and looks OK, but definitely not quite right. Honestly, this is only on here until I can clean up my Manx Style buggy body, or try to buy a new barien buggy body. I think it looks goofy, and reminds me too much of the buggy batmobile...
Thanks All,
Len |
