Hey guys
Just some pictures of our old Jalopy. It's been off the road for 5 years, but passed it's MOT today.
It's a '74 1303 vert, that was imported into the UK in the '80's and converted to right hand drive. We bought it about 10 years ago. We spent a bit of time and money on it inthe past, bt it got laid up whilst we had a couple of young kids.
But I got fed up with not having any VW's on the road, so decided to get her fixed up and back on the road this spring. Spec is:
'Stout' 1915 engine, which made 100bhp all day long on a rolling road. Kadrons, CSP super street etc..
Bespoke made adjustable strut cases with MK1 golf insertswith a strut brace at the front.
Rear lowered by a spline with KYB shocks.
Heavy dutys ARBS at the front and rear.
16" fuchs with 175 and 195 tyres
CSP shifter. H4 headlights. All red rear lenses.
Hope you like it!
Last weekend.
This weekend.

We have to have amber indicators here in the UK. So the lower clear reversing light lense sections have amber bulbs behind them. _________________ MonkeyDubs!

Beautiful car. I like the front signal indicators. So much nicer than the big old honkers that are on the later models. |

That's a beautiful car. Hey man, I'll trade ya my old worn 1600 for that 1915 I'll even throw in any rusty bits of metal that have made their home on top of it. _________________ 1973 Volkswagen Bug standard *unnamed"

Ditched the CSP supersport system for a vintage speed unit.
The csp system was too loud and there was pipework every where with it!
The vintage speed unit sits like a stock unit and whilst I wouldn't describe it as quiet, it sound a lot smoother and less raucous through the rev range.
I'd recommend it over the more expensive csp unit all day long.

Jalopy Update!!
New stopping power fitted!
Look nice behind the OG Fuchs.
Should help stop it now. Had a few hairy moments last year.. 100bhp give a bug more acceleration and speed than you'd expect.. _________________ MonkeyDubs!

Looks good. You might want to consider taping off the braking surface and spraying those rotors w/ caliper paint to keep them from rusting up and looking like crap 6 months from now. _________________ 79 SB Vert, in pieces.
