I was given the depicted red springs. I was told they were purchased from Bus Depot some 10 plus years ago and never used.

All they say on them is VW CAMPER HD REAR or FRONT with seems to be a date code of 14/00 for April 2000

I am told they may be Eibach springs but who knows?

Bus Depot was clueless when I asked about them.

So anybody has the specs for me, please?

Red?
I didn't know there was a red.
My list shows

Yellow ...lowered
Brown ..carat
Green ...heavy load
Blue

Oh sorry didn't see your pics.
The color coding I am aware of is just a color swiped at the base of the springs

That's a lot of coils for the rear, like it's a lifting spring, but the coils for the front look closer together than my standard 85s westy were.

Someone at Bus Depot must know what they are--Ron, perhaps? There has to be someone there with some institutional memory.

As someone has in their signature line has...use the search Smile

http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=1199674

H&R lowering springs..

Or Eibach...

http://www.tirerack.com/suspension/suspension.jsp?...cf2211bb6e

If you search google images to match the printing on the springs it
should lead you to what they are.

I did search the site and I did do a google images search.......for quite some time too.

Notice the date on the pictures? It has been several months now.

That is why I have asked, I just did not come up with a match.

So I did do as I say!

Walt I just went and dug out the HR springs I have. They have white
printing and have the H&R brand on them. The Eibachs from another
car we have also has the brand on them. So I digress and wonder if
they may be something that the Busdepot had gotten from some odd
close out from Europe?
Maybe Dylan will know?

I was just messing with you Walt. I figured you had looked. I sent a link
to a friend over in England and another in Germany. See what they know.
Did you try emailing Ron directly yet? Ron at busdepot dot com
Can you get a rough height of each spring?

Edit: they almost look like these but I don't know how long these
been on the market

I cant tell from the pictures...
Are the rears progressive winds...
or are the coils equally spaced?

At first glace, I say they are a prototype spring, not production.

Big linear spring is about 12 1/2 inches long. 7 and 1/2 turns. 0.66 inch diameter wire

Smaller spring is about 10 inches long. Also 7 and 1/2 tunrs. 0.55 inch wire diameter.

I find no markings other than VW CAMPER HD 14/00 on them.....

Sent an email to Ron @ bus depot as suggested.

How long should I wait before I call them up?

Those look identical to the "pro Sport" 60mm springs offered by Just Kampers.
