Heres some pictures from last fall before packing the Square away for winter. Did some patch work on the front clip to cover up the bumper holes.
Ground down the welds and put some Duraglass over the work and it looks good!
Another skim coat of light weight over the whole clip to smooth it out, and itll look as good as new! _________________ 1957 Oval Semaphore Beetle

|
|
A lot of work went in to the build of my 1641cc! I painted the engine tins with Duplicolor engine enamel. Went with a darker blue than I plan to paint the car to offset it. We upgraded it with an Engle racing Cam.
We torqued the fly wheel down and checked the end play
We went with the 87mm Pistons
Put on our rebuilt heads, now its starting to look like an engine!
Also scored a set of 34ICT Webers I plan to run, Waiting to drop the engine back in to show final product. Did some brake work today, and plan to update again tomorrow. _________________ 1957 Oval Semaphore Beetle

Looks like someone made themselves some "eggs" for Easter. Nice work on the body and engine. Hopefully you used some red loctite on those cam bolts. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

Thanks Bobnotch! Yes Loctite, gasket cement and Lucas assembly lube came in handy on this engine build, as well as a torque wrench! We cleaned up the transmission today, decided to get a few more goodies for the brakes while were doing them. Seems like one thing after another with this ground up resto, but my father always said, Do it right the first time! _________________ 1957 Oval Semaphore Beetle

Well yesterday we decided to do some brake work. We had a box full of new parts we used! While going through we decided to be on the safe side and replace the rear steel brake lines, as we did the rubber ones of coarse. A few other odds and ends need to be ordered but Ill leave you with the nicely painted Drums and Calipers!

Not the best day for the Grafs... 2 faulty harbor freight spray guns= Run in sealer... Block that out, run to HF for yet another gun.. one coat of color on shell+ hood and hatch and runs... Going to have to let that dry and block it out.. Hoping for better luck next time. _________________ 1957 Oval Semaphore Beetle

Are you using the correct reducer for your air temperature? _________________ Немає виправдання для війни! Я з Україною.

Well we diagnosed that our gun wasnt receiving the correct air pressure. No biggie, as I will be respraying it this weekend with a Satajet 4000! Its good to know people! _________________ 1957 Oval Semaphore Beetle
