Sharp looking Squreback. But I would prefer driving it with the bumpers intalled! |
Thank you! I have fiberglass euro bumpers I have to shape before installing! _________________ 1957 Oval Semaphore Beetle

Got the car inspected and put 50+ miles on it! Even took it to the local cruise in with my dads 57 and ran into some aircooled buddies!

Looking good, Alex!
It's such a great feeling putting those miles on your ride for the first time, and then you got to class up the VW crowd to boot! Sweeeeeeeet......... _________________ 1972 SquareBack.....recycled back to life......

Today I was able to checkout Alex’s ride in person at a VW show in Syracuse, and man was I impressed!
Alex has worked his butt off to get this ride road worthy. After looking at the pictures of his square from when he bought it (seen on the first page of this thread) to how it sits today; WOW – what a difference! This car was ignored and waiting to die until Alex decided this was going to be his first ride. He (with help from his dad) did so much work to this car that you wouldn’t recognize it as the same car in the original pictures.
I TOTALLY commend Alex for being so dedicated and saving this car from the eventual scrap pile. He really gave this car a new life…… my hats off to you Alex!
and he ain't done yet - more work coming! _________________ 1972 SquareBack.....recycled back to life......

Couldnt thank you enough for the kind words Dave! I absolutely enjoy driving that car and telling it's story to people! It's currently my daily driver up at college until winter comes!
81 Audi 4000 I restored.

Here is a picture of my Squareback at my new job. We only restore pre-1930 wooden wheel cars. This is Cloud with a 1908 Maxwell which was just started today for the first time in 50 years. _________________ 1957 Oval Semaphore Beetle

Sorry to hear this. I know you put a lot of time and effort into that car.
Also, all but the Birmingham link have been flagged for removal. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

Bob,
This was my Audi That was stolen, The Square is safely stored in my parents garage. The Police have found the Audi, but not the guy who stole it.
Thanks for your sympathy.

Yeah, but it looks like you put quite a bit of time into it. Glad to hear you got it back. Hopefully they hang the car theif. If they don't, they still should. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

Update. My Audi was found. Everything checks out okay. I am now selling my Mk2 Jetta I picked up last fall. I had plans to fix it up but now decided to sell it and stay air cooled. _________________ 1957 Oval Semaphore Beetle

Hello Samba! This summer I plan to do as much possible to my car to get it finished. Including, European bumpers, Air ride, and Interior. I will post major updates on here, but you can follow me on Instagram at VWSB1970 or search #SummerOfTheSquare for updates. Looking forward to working on my car, and going to as many shows as possible! _________________ 1957 Oval Semaphore Beetle
