One of a couple pictures of my first drive last night!

Sharp looking Squreback. But I would prefer driving it with the bumpers intalled!

Got the car inspected and put 50+ miles on it! Even took it to the local cruise in with my dads 57 and ran into some aircooled buddies!

Today I was able to checkout Alex’s ride in person at a VW show in Syracuse, and man was I impressed!
Alex has worked his butt off to get this ride road worthy. After looking at the pictures of his square from when he bought it (seen on the first page of this thread) to how it sits today; WOW – what a difference! This car was ignored and waiting to die until Alex decided this was going to be his first ride. He (with help from his dad) did so much work to this car that you wouldn’t recognize it as the same car in the original pictures.
I TOTALLY commend Alex for being so dedicated and saving this car from the eventual scrap pile. He really gave this car a new life…… my hats off to you Alex! Applause

and he ain't done yet - more work coming!

Here is a picture of my Squareback at my new job. We only restore pre-1930 wooden wheel cars. This is Cloud with a 1908 Maxwell which was just started today for the first time in 50 years.

Yesterday I was a victim of car theft and scam with a deal gone wrong while trying to sell my car. This is a very embarrassing and misfortunate event that was least expected. These people are very smooth and can out smart the best of us because they are career criminals. I wouldnt wish this on anybody. Please Share these ad's and get the word out. The Syracuse Police are involved and well aware. Any thing helps to bring justice to the case. I am Blessed that no harm was done to me. Thank you and God Bless.

Sorry to hear this. I know you put a lot of time and effort into that car.
Also, all but the Birmingham link have been flagged for removal.

Bob,

This was my Audi That was stolen, The Square is safely stored in my parents garage. The Police have found the Audi, but not the guy who stole it.

Thanks for your sympathy.

Update. My Audi was found. Everything checks out okay. I am now selling my Mk2 Jetta I picked up last fall. I had plans to fix it up but now decided to sell it and stay air cooled. Very Happy

Hello Samba! This summer I plan to do as much possible to my car to get it finished. Including, European bumpers, Air ride, and Interior. I will post major updates on here, but you can follow me on Instagram at VWSB1970 or search #SummerOfTheSquare for updates. Looking forward to working on my car, and going to as many shows as possible!
