Hi
Looking for L41 black formula.
I couldn't find it on glasurit's website , they only have L43.
Actually i need it for my 66 bug as i noticed that L41 is the correct black 66's.
Anybody help? what's the difference between L41 & L43?
Thanks

when you look at the 2 colors, there isn't much difference between them.
I doubt anyone would walk up to you and say 'hey thats viper green, not viper green' Laughing

Hi,

I am a total neophyte on paint, but willing to learn Wink

First of all, I have no sample to match a color, so I need to take the VW code color as a reference.

Checked with Glassurit and some questions arise:

- Vintage formulas are useless, as Glassurit does not make the original components of the mixings

- Glassurit does give "modern" equivalents based on today products: basically paint line 22 and 68.

- Major Glassurit retailers use Glassurit paint line 55.

So basically, you Glasurit users, that don't take the match solution, which Glassurit paint line are you using?

thanks!

Well, as long as this thread is open, I figured I'd ask about the engine tin: I know that internal gray-black components for 1972 are LD43. Does anyone know what they correct color is for the engine tin. THis is for a concours restoration, so I need to be correct.

Looking to bring my rims back to original colors: Cadmium red L-457, and L471 Stone Beige. My local body paint guy tried for two days and couldn't find these colors. I messed around on the glasurit and found both colors.... anybody know of SF Bay area dealer for glasurit? Thanks

Hello!

We could not get a perfect match for L87 pearlwhite in the colorsystem of our painter. The one that came up was pretty much beige. Does anybody have a suggestion for our problem? Maybe a modern colour that matches well?

We also had troubles with finding stone beige L471.

Hope anybody can help!
