Hi All,
Been lurking around here for a while since I got my 65 square back in April of this year.
I got her half stripped and in primer from the previous owner.
I have slowly started restoring her, will post some pics shortly.

Striipping paint is the worst job, so might as well pull all the windows out now to strip/primer/paint it. Put your new headliner in it before the windows go back in.

So far I have pulled out all the windows, old roof lining, stripped out the front suspension, cleaned it all up and painted it, and busy putting it back, will post some more pics.

Here are some pics of the beam all cleaned up, busy putting it all back together. Dropped the front 2 splines (I think) while it was out.

When putting the front beam back in place I have about a 10mm gap between the top of the bracket and the chassis of the car where the 2 bolts bolt straight up. the 3 bolts going through the front of the bracket into the back of the bracket line up perfectly. any suggestions??

I'm not 100% sure but i believe theres a rubber spacer that needs to go there. You could just use metal washers ive seen them use that before thinks its called shims or something like that

Yes, you're missing a rubber bushing in that spot. It's actually 1 of 2 parts plus a metal sleeve and bolt combo that goes there.

Parts 54 thru 57 in this picure.
Those parts are used with #19 in this picture.

Yup,the bottom one goes into the gap. Then the sleeve is inserted from below with the upper bushing (in your pic) then the bolt and washer combo. The washer seats the sleeve against the body, so the bolt can be torqued to 18 ft lbs. This allows so movement of both the body and the chassis.
