You can order them straight from Concept 1 or from Klassic Fab. _________________ 53 Hatch Barndoor

Looks like Wolfsburg west is selling the concept 1 wheel now. Pretty cheap w/ the horn button. _________________ I make HWE style roof racks, Jim-Dandy racks, SO-33 metal parts, Dormobile racks, HWE style ladders, engine crank start handles, Westy rack tags, Binz tags, Sundial badges, State of California tags, steering lock electrical covers and single / double cab gate latch friction blocks.

The Wolfsburg West website informs:
"Will fit 55-67 with modification"
Can someone explain what steering wheel modification is needed?
what is the difference between the keyed steering shaft of a late bd and that of a split bus 55-67? _________________ Buy the best. Cry once.

For a 55-67 Bus, maybe you have to add the turn signal canceling ring? _________________ How to Post Photos

Thanks Everett and djfordmanjack.
My 51 bd has a later keyed steering shaft and I don't need the turn signal cancelling ring.
That means that a repro bd steering wheel is in my case just bolt on.
Unless I have missed something fundamental... _________________ Buy the best. Cry once.

On a splined barndoor wheel. Is it the same splines as a split or early oval? If so how much difference is there in an early barndoor wheel and the bug? |
