I was just wondering if anyone has any clue as to what these stickers/cards mean in my '87 van...
This sticker is in the driver side door frame:

This is a card that hangs from a string from under the steering column:

Flip side:
Thanks! _________________ 1987 Vanagon Wolfsburg Edition |

Very interesting them being in German, tho... where'd ya get the van?
I would remove (maybe steam the sticker off...) and laminate them, keep them with the vehicle records, this stuff is great to have as historical tidbits.
My van came with the original window sticker, and a stack of German sales brochures.

The orange one tell when the next service appointment has to be, The other one is a reminder for the oil change for the oil company "Vedool" - on the back it lists all the reasons why it is the latest and greatest, it's advertising. And the name of the shop that probably did the oil change.
Together they are as useful and nostalgic as any mix-tapes you found in the van also _________________ 1987 Westy

I figured they were oil change stickers/tags, but why are they in German? The fact that they say 35,xxx kms makes me wonder if this van started life in Germany? Also, I bought the van in CA. But apparently a PO was a German couple who toured Mexico in it about a decade ago (at least that's what I'm told). _________________ 1987 Vanagon Wolfsburg Edition |

Is your odometer in KM or miles? I was going to theorize a European Delivery program vehicle, but that's a lot of mileage..., and I think they would have put a miles odo in it for export. It's probably a true European van that toured and then was federalized to be sold. _________________ '86 Syncro CHC Top AAZ Turbodiesel

Haha good eye!
And my odo is in miles. I wonder if a vehicle report will show anything like that? _________________ 1987 Vanagon Wolfsburg Edition |

30,000 kms = 19,000 miles
Not inconceivable that it's a Euro Delivery. Original buyer probably toured around Europe before having VW ship it to the States.
If the dash VIN is something like WV2ZZZ25... then it's a European import van (i.e. built for the European market); if the VIN is something like WV2ZB925... then it's a Euro Delivery van (i.e. built for the North American market but spent time touring Europe before it was shipped). _________________ ~Kamz

My Syncro was originally delivered to a US Airforce owner in Germany, then brought to the USA later. So it had some items from German service as well. I'd guess that was your situation if it has a normal US VIN. I'd hang on to these items as some cool tidbits from its past.
