Overall this is a very solid bus. Needs some typical rocker, etc. kind of repair but nothing that will keep it from being a driver first. My wife wants to call the bus "Lenny"
So that's the plan...refresh the entire mechanical system (brakes, trans, engine, front axle, etc.) and electricals and get it back on the road.
I've spent a short amount of time removing the last maroon/grey repaint on the roof and the OG dove blue looks awesome. I hope to keep as much as possible.
The front flipseat bench is the only interior piece original to this bus. It was covered by some vinyl but underneath was some bits of OG upholstery.
Many more updates to come.......

Cool bus, congrats, you dont see too many Dove blue flipseats.
Does it still have the m-code plate, and are you planning to search for an original interior ? |

How are you cleaning the roof? What are you using? |

I'd love to get a flipseat without the original cabinets.
Going "open plan" with a rear Z bed, side facing middle bench/cabinet and front flipseat. With the table installed, you can seat 7 or 8 comfortably around the table for camping fun. No other bus setup allows that to happen.

Here's the mcode plate and birth cert. Prior to getting the birth certificate I had no idea whether it was an 34 or 35. I jumped the gun a bit and did some trading for some so35 interior pieces. I haven't decided if I'll still use that stuff or try and trade it for the correct so34 pieces.

I've been testing a few different products but so far citrus strip products have worked the best removing the bad stuff and not ruining the good dove blue underneath.

The upper left locking tab washer should have the flat facing rearward. You probably haven't tightened it up yet, but my ADHD is kicking in... _________________ Founder and Chairman Emeritus, ECMSAS

I was going to try and patch the front floor but in the end it would have been more work than just replacing the whole thing. There were a bunch of spots that were paper thin if not gone.

After:
New WW floor to be put in:
Still have some clean up to do before the new floor goes in and some minor tweaking to get it to fit but overall it looks to be a nicely made panel. |

Sweet score!
A Dove Blue SO34 would look great next to my Dove Blue S042! _________________ Your Vanagon sucks, Stop waving at me.

Received my rebuilt spindles from Campingbox recently and was able to get them installed. Greg once again did an amazing job with a quick turn-around.
New Saco disk brakes set up:
Freshly painted rims mocked up to the new brakes.
