Flip seat guys need to stick together. I have a very nice spare I picked up a while back. My OG ones where very nice also.Would be happy to let you use the spare for a pattern if it would help?

That shouldn't be too hard to make. What do you think...make it out of 16 gauge steel? |

That would be AWESOME if you'd be willing to let me borrow one. If I can pull off making a close copy of it, I'd be willing to hook other flipseat owners up.

I decided to spend some more time removing paint to get to the dove blue. The top is really turning out nice.
At some point someone sprayed the top half an ugly silver and the bottom maroon. Well, before that happened....someone did some pretty impressive artwork on the bus. It was cool to see the colors start to pop as I scrubbed off the silver....

Kind of like a 60's era flashback. How appropriate. |

I've been slowly picking away at the westy.
Lot's of SLOW paint removal:
A-pillar issues fixed:
OG lower dogleg welded in:
Floor fitted and welded:
Floor sealed:
Primed:
Bought a can of L31 from TowerPaint. It looked good going down but dried more of a pastel blue than dove. Just ordered some custom match cans from paintscratch to see if thats any closer...will probably repaint.
Dash cleaned up really nice:
Cleaned and painted the steering box:
Mounted new BFG 195/75/14 All Terrain TA KO Tires....love the look:

Thanks, much appreciated. I spent a couple hours today sorting the front wiring looms. The section that runs to the emergency flasher relay is fried. Anyone have a spare for sale? Not sure what happened, but the purple/black wire is completely melted to the others it is associated with. ???? |

12+ inches of snow overnight = 2 day off work to work on the bus
Spent my free time removing paint on the drivers side; found more artwork:
before:
(the bondo was found under the paint;not my work....
after many hours of careful paint removal:
close-up of the fire breathing dragon found under layers of paint:
The sunburst on the rear corners will be preserved for the time being but the dragon is not staying....just not my style.

Yeah, I'm on the fence on keeping it. It's kind of like removing a logo though. It has definitely been there for most of this bus's life. I'm going to wait till I have the bus out on the road before I make a decision.

i like the sunburst, too. easy enough to scrape off at a later time, much harder to scrape it back on...
i would rock it for a while, then make a decision later _________________ regards

I would loose it... It doesn't improve the bus IMO. _________________ EMPI Power Rules! |

Nice work, it's cleaning up and coming together nicely! If it were mine, I'd loose the sunburst, even though it is cool it's been on the bus for so long. But that's you're call, great work on the bus. _________________ -Adam

Looking great! I agree it's a nice idea to keep the sunburst around and decide on it after everything else is done. How does it "resolve" on the back side? Do the rays extend across the rear hatch to the opposite side or does it stop at the corners? _________________ Jack Stenner
