Pete, if you are looking for a low profile spare to save space, consider the Smart car tires. Some folks use them on their "slammed" rides. They are 15" and almost rubberband in height.

Set it on the side of the road and pour powdered sugar over it, place a cup of coffee next to it. Cops fall for it every time.

Sorry it took so long youngnstudly ; the metalwork takes a lot longer than photoshop Very Happy

Hey cool! It's coming together.

Haha, I am a former journeyman sheet metal worker, I know how long forming metal takes! FYI, when you know your way around sheet metal, it takes less time than you think to form stuff up....and when you barely know enough about using paint program (like I do), it takes FOREVER to put lights on GP's sedan delivery. Embarassed Lol, photoshop? You'd have an easier time teaching me Spanish....And I took Spanish TWICE in high school and still know nothing! Que whatttt??????

Now try a sheet metal project that's more advanced than a roll pan...Like headlight buckets! (These were my prototype parts...the finished buckets were made from copper and tig welded....After I realized how long they took to make, even I wasn't dumb enough to mass produce them!Laughing):

SCORE !!!.... I got two 63 complete doors........ .
.... AND a RUST FREE 63 hood.......
.. . AND four 63 fenders....
all of it for only a 25 minute drive to Tampa !

My experience has always been ; if you have a spare hood and front fenders ....you will never need them Very Happy

I can finish the hood and passenger side extra pieces and when I get tired of the 1/2 and 1/2 paint look , I can bolt finished peices on .

Hey Grandpa! - You forgot to mention free delivery into your van Wink Definitely my pleasure and honor meeting and talking shop with you earlier. However, in catching up with this thread, that was probably an hour that you could have spent on the project... I'll definitely be in touch about the 'lesson' that we chatted about.

You sure it was the salad, and not the cranberry juice? Wink
