we cleaned out a storage trailer at work today and I got free "oatmeal " carpet for the Type 6.
We had several different colors that came out of a trade show .
The companies that participate in these shows buy 12 x 12 carpet for the booth and walk on it for 3 or 4 days and then just leave it rather than pay to ship it home .
I like free stuff for my VW's Very Happy

Decided to wait until the rebuilt engine is finished before I continue on this project .
Getting dual carbs aligned now would be a waste of daves time and my money .
several late season conventions will be keeping me busy and the extra income will buy a freeway flier transmission

What do old VW owners do with insomnia? Read ypur build thread...thanks for a great night of satisfying sleeplessness. I hope you will push the project a little farther...all the best, Another grateful Granpa

I looked at the pictures and read almost every word.
Just under 2 hours!

Let me summarize my thoughts on your project;

WOW!

I feel that the May - September are essential our winter. The weather is terrible to work outside from sun up to sun down. Terrible weather being 200% humidity all day, 95F, the sun beating down, and the daily monsoons.

I'm not looking forward to doing the oil in my Mercedes today. I need to get an AC unit for my garage. And rewire the garage too.

Come on lads don't be wishing your lives away. Get a canopy, a beefy fan, a good sun hat and save the real heavy lifting for the early or later hours. At least it's been breezy and not so soupy this year.

Show season coming up in a few months.

I do need a canopy, I'll have to watch the harbor freight ads.

I took the engine out to remove the tins and accessories that needed to be cleaned up for the rebuilt longblock ... the modified ATV jack works great !!!

putting it back in is the easiest way to get it to the shop where Dave is putting in the new one

I would like to take this chance to thank The type3 parts vendor Boo Zoo K .
I have ordered several parts from him and all have been as advertised or better .
Todays part was a piece of engine tin . Mine was rusted through . The piece I received was like new !
When you order a part that NOBODY local has for #35 shipped you don't think about the fact that half ; $18 is shipping .
Thankyou Joel ( boo zoo k )

Joel's a great guy. He really knows type 3s and is pretty modest about his amazing cars.
