Started on extending sleeping surface . Twin bed mattress is 39x 72
I am using metal from an old bed frame ; to make a NEW bed frame
I got the new front seat in place ; slides foreward and out of the living area . there will be only one front seat . _________________ 63 two fold rag

Hey - sorry if this was already talked about in an earlier post, I actually went back through most of the pages to see if I could find you talking about it - What product did you use as sound deaden-er? Is it the roofing product that has been talked about on the Samba quite a bit? - Just wondering how you like it compared to other products like Dynamat etc. |

I used the roofing product cuz i'm frugal and this is not a show car .
DO NOT put this product on the inside of your roof .
$16.95 a roll ; 2 rolls to do a bug....mine is not a bug anymore _________________ 63 two fold rag

I was concearned that having a flat exterior surface 16 inches high and 43 inches long with no interior support might give me a problem later so I welded in braces
Then I put some sound deadening on
Love those free plastic signs........still have a 5x8 for the ceiling
Filled in the bottom plate ; put a hand hole in the plywood ; covered the side hole

I received a package in the mail today . When I opened it I saw Dora the Explorer had come to visit
The reason Dora dropped by was to give me the pattern for the front carpet for my 66
this is actually 64 ; but I will modify it to fit my needs . Purchasing a carpet kit won't work because of the modifications
BIG THANKYOU to Samba Member Dave from Corona Dl Mar California for tracing his front carpet onto Dora The Explorer wrapping paper _________________ 63 two fold rag

Hey GP, looking good. Is there a reason to only one seat in the type 6? I would think if you have a double bed you would have 2 seats. _________________ I think he meant "rare", as in "not well-done" |

I travel alone and will need the room in the passenger front for under dash storage and a medium size cooler .
No Type 6 this week I have to do brakes on the " Purple Car " . _________________ 63 two fold rag

I put foil bubble insulation in the ceiling .
the bent pieces of metal are there to guide the panel into a grove between the original bus metal and the aluminum strips that will hold it in
the metal strips are the pieces used when you put carpet next to linoleum
A little finishing and some trim will keep the bugs out ! _________________ 63 two fold rag

Cut most of the pieces of carpet today .
the firewall piece and the tunnel piece didn't need any edge binding so I was able to glue them in place
I have the kick panels ; the door sill pieces and the two floor pieces that will get the edge binding .
BEFORE
Part way
