I haven't found 52.5 idles for Solex so far. I can try the 50s and if they are too small figure out how to open them up a bit.
I'd say the Magnaflow isn't too loud, though it's not very quiet either. I'm currently missing a gasket between collector and muffler flange so the leak is adding to the sound. But, when I first fired up the car with the muffler on I was somewhat surprised how much more muffled it sounded compared to the stinger. Stinger was somewhat obnoxious but there is a Civic within a block of me that is louder, and it is running a muffler. Magnaflow has more of a deep, muffled, clean sound, I'll post a video once things are back together once again.

Okay, finished the first checkup -- oil changed, full flow lines and filter bracket re-mounted, muffler re-mounted using a new gasket, valves re-adjusted, plugs checked, Kads rejetted again with 30mm venturis this time. Car seems to like the 30mm venturis best so far. I'm running 50 idles, 135 mains and 150 airs. Based on how it's running, 55 idles were too rich -- is it possible I need to go down even smaller on the idles? Idle screws are 1 1/2 turns out, car idles smooth and pulls very well throughout the RPM range, with top end being higher and crisper than the 28mm vents. No popping or sputtering, no major lean spots except of very small hint of a stumble in the mid range that shows up only sometimes, but it doesn't really affect drivability.
I have a leak at the oil pressure sensor, I've had those before and really don't like it. I think the threads may be going. I'll try more Permatex thread sealant, but evil thought of busting out the JB Weld crossed my mind already.
Car feels like a normal car, pulls well and is pretty quick. Breaks traction easily in 1st and 2nd while accelerating through a 90 degree turn, I have pretty new 205/60/15s on the back. Even speedo started working all of a sudden , though it's reading high and needle doesn't go below 20MPH, but I'll take it for now.

if the 50s are actually 50s, it would be worth a try of 48s. _________________ It's just advice, do whatever you want with it!

They just came from you, say "50" on them and hole on the tip is smaller than on 55s I removed. I am going to try 48s but I need to fix this pressure sender leak first.
I have Loctite Blue, Permatex thread sealant and Dirco. I'm planning on putting lots of Loctite on the threads, touch of Dirco at the very end where the edge of the case is, and letting it cure for 24 hours. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Here is a new video with the Phat Boy, 30mm venturis, 50 idles, 135 mains and 150 airs. Road is wet so I'm more careful as car is breaking traction in 1st and 2nd. It looks slower than previous video, but you can see I'm able to shift later because the powerband has stretched. Car actually feels faster and seems to me to be making power.

It feels cleaner. I'll try 48 idles next, then 132.5 mains.

I picked up a used set of used Spanish 40IDFs. They look like a stock Redline kit -- F11 tubes, 28mm venturis, 55 idles, 115 mains, 200 airs, no velocity stacks. I dug up my jet stash and have 47 and 50 idles and 125 mains. I am going to clean them up, install 50 idles and 125 mains and try it.

Cleaned up and re-jetted:
Narrow engine + later OEM shroud = hammering needed for proper fitment:

that's the EMPI linkage and intakes you are fighting. The CB kits would clear the OEM shroud, FWIW. _________________ It's just advice, do whatever you want with it!

These carbs came with the hex linkage, I haven't tried it yet. The linkage that is still in place is from the Kads, just hasn't been removed yet. I'll see if I can get things working with parts I have now. Hammering the shroud I'm not too upset about, it was minor and I have another OEM shroud which is nicer than this one.

if you have a machinist buddy you can angle mill the intake bases (which are likely not flat anyways!) 5 degrees or so to swing the carbs outboard to clear. _________________ It's just advice, do whatever you want with it!

So, I've been chasing various issues with oil leaks, fuel delivery, electrical bugs and fouling plugs. I seem to have gotten things stable for now. IDFs currently have 47 idles and 125 mains with 28mm venturis. I tried 115 mains and I seem to have more power with 125s. 120s may be closer to what I need. I will continue driving it like this and reading plugs and see how it goes.

I feel I'm beginning to get the hang of tuning these IDFs, big thanks to John's wideband tuning thread. I've been chasing a bunch of various issues, was getting frustrated and was even getting ready to yank the engine, but was able to get things back under control and car seems to be responding.
This video is not a great pull, but is better than nothing for the sake of documenting events. This is with 32mm ventures, 50 idles, 145 mains and 210 airs. I feel I'm done with tuning idles and airs for now, going to smaller mains is the next step. My next purchase will most likely be an Innovative MTX-L. After that, I'm really interested in CB's crank-fire system, but it's pricey and will have to wait. Small steps.
Big Thank You to John, if anything this is a show of his success in guiding a customer through the process from beginning to end.

I got my stock venturis machined to 30mm:
We'll see how much this helps. I'm also finishing up installing an MTX-L wideband gauge.
Got my spare case opened up for 94s, full-flowed, alignbored, thrust cut. Have a CB 76mm crank waiting to get fitted in it, planning to build up the shortblock as money and time permits, then use some of the parts from the 1835 for my first stroker build.

For sake of documenting progress.
2 things added: wideband and a CB Black Box. Running with 30mm venturies, 50 idles, 130 mains, 220 airs.
Black Box was easy to install, I also used the CB vacuum reference kit and it was basically a plug'n'play installation. I locked out my 009, still using points, works great. I like this product.
Now that I can see my RPM, I know I can rev to at least 5,500. I set my rev limiter at 5,200 and it's very easy to hit in 2nd gear, so I'll raise it to 5,400. I'm still on the rich side, but the car runs fine and I commute to work in it twice a week (120mile round trip), as well as a bunch of other driving -- car is not a garage queen and gets put to the test.
I've also gathered enough parts to start building a 2109cc, so I'll be working on that next.
