Got the body back on the pan , but I'm going to wait to bolt it all down untill I get the new beam under it. I bought all stainless hardware for the body mounting.
Once I get it on all 4 wheels I am going to start on the body work. |

...it's off-center by 0.5mm.
NOW - what does it look like inside the car where the 'luggage area' was?

It's probably off a lot more than that lol.
Right now nothing has been done in there. I plan to build a box that seals to the top and back of the luggage for the IC. The air will be vented through the bottom of it to the underside of the car.
Started playing around with the fender flares today. I got one tacked on but after stepping back and looking at it I was not happy. I think I will have to bring it up higher on the panel.

Its been awhile since Ive posted on here. I ditched the flares. I got most the body work done after priming and blocking multiple times. I just need to get the doors and lids stripped, primed and fitted.
I also bought a rebuilt transaxle from Genos Air Cooled in PA. Super nice guy and gave me a great deal. I dont know as much as I should about transaxles, but he told me its out of a super beetle and is better than my original 002. I know its a 3:88 and thats about it lol. I planned to do a cable shift setup, but it was going to be more work than it was worth. |

Thanks! I can't wait to see it in color.
Where are you at in Ohio Basketcase? Reason I ask is I was driving through Cambridge not too long ago on 77 and saw a VW junk yard. |

Its called Beetle Barn. It didn't look like the best yard, but its all VWs. I couldn't find much online about, a few old threads on forum sites, but it doesn't have the best reviews.

Doesn't seem too bad so far. |

I almost have all the panels finished. I sprayed the engine and trunk compartment with Por15 topcoat yesterday.
I sprayed the dash today. I've been eager to see the color in person. Platinum Metallic, factory Porsche color, I saw it in a DuPont book for 85 Model year.

I got lucky when I bought my Cookies & managed to get a matched set from a 911 in 15x6/15x7...
