I found the 15x6s from a salvage yard in PA, they didn't have any 15x7s. I will try to source them from another junk yard though.

What's your setup didget? Stock beam, lowered? What about your tire size?

Currently, the Ghia is on an adjustable stock-width beam, running 17x7.5 ET53 Cayenne rims with 205/50-17 tires & some 5-10mm spacers on rear. Will need to go to at least a 2 inch narrowed beam later for a bit more fender clearance, and looking into smaller diameter front tires.

I had the Cookies on it & removed them for use on a buggy.

You have 205s in the front too? Id love to go that wide in the front but i didnt think they would fit. I wish I could squeeze 215s in the back.

Did you have the stock beam with the cookie cutters? I like the 17s, but was worried about tire size with them. I considered C4 vette Zr1 wheels, but they only come in 8" width.

Fiatdude is running 16x7 Teledials on his Ghia with 225/55R16 rear tires, IIRC...

Photo of mine is with 205/50R17 all around - my rear clearance issues on inside of rim were at the cast area that the suspension snubber contacts; I ground away the excess casting material to prevent contact with rim inner lip.

I got ahold of fiatdude, he's really squeezing those meats under his car lol. I'm hoping to fit a 215 in the back.

I got most of the car sanded.

Ive been thinking hard about the stereo, and ive decided to use alot of my gear I have on the shelf. Also decided to not run a sub woofer. I really want to mount the midranges in the doors rather than build kicks. You dont see that too often though.

Looking Good!

I've got parts shipments coming in next week including new brake hard lines & flex lines, new master cylinder, grommets & other rubber bits & bobs.

But - it's all for the buggy chassis I'm trying to complete before I move on to the Ghia again.

And then, there's a Corvair project waiting in the wings - with a twist. Wink

Thanks guys!

It's always a good feeling to see your project all in one color. And it's always fun to get parts! Lol. What kind of master cyl are you going to run? Corvairs keep catching my eye. I wouldn't mind building one someday.

I got something exciting today,

Clock to tach conversion. Hopefully it works out. If so, I might try to put an add up on here and do it for other members. Later today I'm going to work on it and see how it fits.

Got the decal on. Turned out good, I was considering pulling it and putting the second one I have on. Figured out a few things while trying to put it on. I could deffinetly get the other one on with no problems now.

Looks good. If you end up doing these I've got a spare one sitting here that I would send to you in a heart beat.

Well I bought 2 decals and I have one left. I need to order a few things from McMaster Carr to finish it up. I am stuck on one thing though, the knob on the lense to adjust the clock. I'm not brave enough to pull the lenses out of the housing. So I am leaving it there. It won't block the vision of the needle at all. I am able to use the stock needle too. When I get mine finished I can let you know, and if your happy with it Id have no problem doing it to yours.

I got my Wilwood master cylinder mounted tonight. I'm going to make an aluminum plate to go behind it to cover up the original holes. I also got my intercooler box finished.

I was on the fence about running a subwoofer or not. I've decided to do a 3 way setup, and put 2 8" mis basses in the kick panels crossed over actively, and a passive 2 way set in the doors. I think it will look cleaner than having a big sub box mounted in the back.

I'll snap some pics tomorrow.

Ran some brake line today.

Mounted the proportion in valve under the back seat. I considered mounting it somewhere I can access it while driving, but I figured I will just set it and forget it. I don't want to worry about someone turning it either.

I'm not sure if the master cylinder will be happy in that orientation... If it is a Wilwood unit, I believe that you should be able to swap bleeder screws to opposite side (after removing port plugs), then reorient master 'right ways up'. You could redrill the Napoleon hat hole pattern for the 2 bolts used to mount the MC & clock the flange at 10-11 o'clock when looking at flange from front of car. Should still provide sufficient clearance for hardlines. I ran into similar space conflicts on hydraulic clutch master swap on another project & simply reclocked flange and drilled new mounting holes.

Actually there isn't enough room for the hard lines to go underneath the master cylinder. I was not sure if it was going to work, but its completely full of fluid, the reservoirs are remote mounted so there's no chance of air to get to them. This will actually put the bleeder screws higher. I don't know if the master cyl will know whats up and whats down. I guess I will find out.

I got the brake hoses today.

I also got the 8" mid basses yesterday, I will get some kick panels fiber glassed in between doing other things

Waiting on parts so I got bored. I put this in to figure out how I want to mount it.

I bought that radio 13 years ago for my truck and never installed it. It's ok, but I think I'm going to try to find a older alpine deck.

I bought a EZ wiring 20 circuit harness on eBay. I considered a rebel wiring harness, but I took a risk with this one. At first it was intimidating but after thinking it out it wasn't bad. I also got my windshield in today.

Lol I just can't wait to drive it. At this pace I'm hoping mid summer as long as be engine doesn't cost a ton. I've never driven an air cooled car, I can't wait.
