Hola hermano Johnny!
Doug also responded to my PM to tell me that he would be interested in making the inner grommets. As you said though, he is busy at the moment but would get to them ASAP.

I am always happy to help out any fellow Barndoor pervert on providing the part to 10 foot Doug to do his thing.

Any further updates would be posted here.

Not sure if he has any in stock as I don't see any listed on his classifieds.

What ever happened to David Fuentes??? [email protected]

He was making them. I gave him $500 for a front floor mat and bunch of other rubber a couple years ago. He never delivered. No response to emails now.

X2
Fuentes is not the best guy to deal with, and he wont return any emails especially if he owes you something. Consider that a loss and lesson learned.

If you still need a floor mat, contact Merz. He has some of the last Fuentes mats. I just bought one as a spare and they look great!

Fuentes steers clear of the VW show circut, precisely because of his bad dealings. He's kind of transient.

I was warned managed to collect my matt and wiper grommets in person but I'm still owed some seals from about 6 years ago.

I must have got lucky then, Mr fuentes sent me all the rubber parts I ordered before I'd paid him!

Such a shame he's sketchy as he had a lot of good parts not available from anywhere else

Mate, the only reason you got your stuff, and on credit, is due to you being the Robbie Williams of the UK VW scene. REALLY. Wink

OKAY! I'm back...

These are the wiper grommets I made. I only made a few sets because I wasn't happy with the mold....even though everyone who got a set was very happy with them Smile I still need a set for my bus! Confused

They were copied off of prefect NOS pair. Bol'shoye spasibo to Gibbs for hooking up the goods! Very Happy

The material is UV stable 2 part urethane and is very close in durometer as the originals. I don't think anyone could tell they were copies when installed?

I will make the inners too.... I have been working on them but I'm missing one dimension. I need the thickness/height of the large section. (red arrow)

Think a few sets will be required down under.

I'm sure brother Bish will also need a set and a few others down here being restored.

Will ask around Doug but I think 5 sets will be needed at least.

I would be keen on a complete set too (inners and outers).

What sort of cost are we looking at?

I'm in South Africa.

Thanks.
