Well the snows started to fly so it's time to put the SC away till the mild weather comes back. Here is where we are right now...... I'll try to update as much as I can. My express parts from Germany have arrived so I'll post them as soon as I can. Cheers!

Test fitting front and rear bumpers and splash pans. Front is great but rear passenger bracket needs a little tweeking. It's all progress....

Got the body work completed on the front cab so we were able to shoot it with high build. Will be blocking this with 300 grit, then re-sprayed with gray primer for the final 600 grit....... Then paint. Rest of the truck to follow. All the body work on the small's are done and will be shot in the next couple days.

Looks really great man. This is meant to help not criticize, because I think you are doing an amazing job. I think your bracket is probably good, it looks to me from where I sit that the passenger corner comes down a little lower than the driver side, I noticed this when you shared a pic of the apron installed. I'd probably trim that corner at the d-pillar before I messed with that heavy gauge bracket which is mounted on a fixed point. Looks awesome keep it up!

Thanks for the kind words and constructive criticism is always welcomed.....that's what this site is all about.
Yes you are correct about the corner not curving enough. We put the rear deck lid on and noticed the diffrence. We will fix that in the next couple weeks.

Good deal man, now is the time! I don't think it will be too hard to tweak that in the right spot.

Well I got together with Joe my engine builder and FINALLY got to look at the Riechert Express parts we brought in from Germany. Took some time but definitely worth the wait. We messaged the original heads and had them rebuilt. Can't wait to see this put all together.

It's your SC and you should do what you want but if it were me I would go with single stage. Single stage just looks right. Best of all the clear won't peel in 10 years and ruin the paint job.

Yes for sure about the colour. I gave the L31 code to Nason and this is a sample of that. I was hoping to spray a sample piece and possible come hold it up to your '58 to compare.

Put my vote down for Single Stage too. It just has a more natural feel to it, and I have to agree it does age better.
Check out my Type 1 build in my signature, I sprayed that with PPG Concept Single Stage.
