Looks good! I'd never feel safe driving around with that fuel pump hanging low. I modified my bracket to hold my ranger pump originally, until i found the fuel injection had been mostly eaten. My dual carbs purr just fine. Smile

Love the car. Keep the throwback pics coming.

Got the right rear wheels off

Then it started raining.

Cleaned it up from the brake fluid from the leaky wheel cylinder.

Go to remove the brake likes and cant find my line wrench...quick run to work to get it out of my toolbox....

Only to snap the hardline in half that goes from the proportioning valve to the soft line....

Get a generic from autozone....8 inches to long. So i put a loop in it carefully.

Get back out from under the car, soaked from the rain. Its dark, where are my new wheel cylinders?

Paid for them and had them ordered, and got everything else, but forgot to go pick them up!

Embarassed

Picking them up tomorrow.

Pics soon:)

Got the brakes back together!

Still gotta adjust and bleed it to perfection, but its stopping smoothly now! Smile

Brake lights fixed also, replaced both swithes, hence still need to bleed 3rd time around.....drained my master cylinder swapped them out.

E brake still inop due to mis adjusted shoes, will deal with that later, like, tomorrow. Maybe.

Its officially named Ruby, just thought i would let yall know.

Got thew brakes sorted! ...mostly....

used a vacuum bleeder to get the air out of the lines...still not convinced i got ALL of it....but the brakes are pretty effective now, and reliable. got the rears adjusted nicely, but its time for new handbrake cables....ones stretched and its not grabbing correctly. works OK for now, but its gonna need em soon.

accidentally slid around a corner going a tad to fast. the rear end went ahead of me for a moment before the front caught up and it straightened out. all safe n sound though. Oops. Cool

next on the list is a new set of wipers....any recommended favorites? or just whatever FLAPS has?

then i need to get some door seals. the back hatch doesnt have a seal at all...thats fabulous when it rains.

ball joins and transmission are my only two other mechanical issues/concerns. both axle seals are shot, and 2nd gear syncro is totally gone. CV boots are all four torn...need new ones of those too.

pics are around, just gotta get em uploaded, and since im currently mid move, thats not going to happen for a while. Sad ill keep the updates coming though!

You're gaining on it Stuart. It won't be long until it's all good to go.
It's cool that you took the car over to show the PO that yoou're fixing it up, and even took her for a ride in it. Sue and I did that with our T-34 back in 2012. Marilyn was surprised we brought it back "home". Cool

No new updates, other than this is my current daily driver. Desperately needs a rear hatch seal and me to put the screws that hold the computer in place back in and put the panel back on, but i lost the screws....darn it. After that it's door seals and h4 headlights with Hids and a set of vintage foglights.

Also need a new fan belt...and need to tighten the one i have, its super loose and i havent tightened it yet

Wow, I just read this thread and the story is pretty awesome. We have heard so manny stories of Type 3's that were kept for quite a while in dark oblivion and only to the salvage by a type 3 buff... such as you buddy! And on thing that really really caught my attention is that the Square was first bought by your buddy and then for a while, it was again left hibernating in isolation. And you got it at the right time and right opportunity.

One thing is certain, that Square was destined to be yours, buddy! As we can see, the Square has again seen the light of the day in glorious ways!

Happy vee-dubbinn'....

so...quick update...

the fuel injection has a mixture issue that I am suspecting is the temp sensor, so its running rich, and rough cold startup, but should have that handled here in the next week or less.

I added front foglights!
(pics later, don't have them handy)

got the front seats out and lubed up, and had the drivers seat repaired (seat rails were busted) but the welds didn't hold because I didn't clean the metal very well, so I gotta redo those again.

more later!
