Looking for any photos showing dual DCNF 40's on Deano intakes in a pre-'68 Bug sedan. Searched for a while and found nothing. Mine are extremely tight to the body, even with removal of the side engine insulation (tarboard). Plenty of space near the fan shroud, but they are so close to the body (1/2" or less) that I'd expect them to hit with the slightest amount of motor flex.
Has anyone had fitment issues with these??? Would Berg intakes pull the carbs closer to the fan shroud and away from the body? They're in perfect working order and I ran them on the motor out of the car, just don't want to struggle with fitting them in the car. I love the old-school look, but if my IDF's will make life easier, I have a set of those too as a back-up plan.
Feedback appreciated! |

I had these on my 64 for a few years. Easiest to dent the body by the fuel inlet on the right side. I also had issues with the manifolds rubbing the edge of the body trays on the right and left side of the engine. _________________ Mike
