I know it's early for year end mileage totals, but it sounds like snow may have brought the Midwest vintage VW driving season to an end early this year.

I'm still driving my '61 bus whenever I can, trying for 6,000 miles on it this year.

2015, so far 7500 km. A warmer than usual November here has extended my driving later than ever, I'm still able to go for a drive every day Very Happy .
It was -20C the day (Mar 22 2015) I took this picture, hence the steam from the exhaust:

about 11,000 miles/yr. Certain developments in my life may allow more like 20,000 / yr soon.

Bought my '71 super the last week of February. Since then I've put just under 16,000 miles on it. Comes out to a little over 21,000 miles a year. Not to bad for a $500 car.

Only put about 4,000 miles on the buggy this year, but that is more than I have driven any other vehicle so far this year.

I've got daily driver '88 Mazda truck, '98 and 2004 Frontiers (all 4-cylinder, 5-speed, with 207K, 204K, and 90K respectively), and I drive the 1971 VW Convertible about 1000 miles per year (1835 DP engine).

It's on classic insurance, just raised the top for winter last Sunday.

Nice big totals coming in.

I'm taking my bus camping this weekend with my youngest daughter. It's an out of state trip, so I'll add a couple hundred miles.

And for you Cusser, I drove my '64 vert out of the garage last weekend, with the top down...

only to tow bar it over to my shop for some needed repairs.
0 miles on that one for me this year Sad

Since it has not salted, I mean Snowed yet... I'm at 6,373 in the '66 Singlecab, but any warmish days I'll be driving it, until the salt comes.... Confused
I did drive the Doka about 1500 miles this summer, what a different world than driving a Split.

This year I finally got back to driving an air-cooled daily for six months. Drove the '69 Fastback every week day adding almost 3000km to the odometer. The '74 Restfalia was used most weekends and for all road trips and about 2000km was added. The odo on that turned 280,000km this year... The '72 Dorper camper and '92 GTI were temporarily licensed and 300km were added to each while moving to different storage locations. Neither of those two vehicles have gone that far in years... This will hopefully change as both will get collector license plates in the near future so I can actually afford to insure them for the road... Smile

I was inspired by my own thread...

Faced with the prospect of having ZERO miles on my '64 convertible this year, I jumped in and solved a serious oil leak last weekend.

I had replaced the oil cooler seals recently, but this was a more serious leak that dripped out steadily, shortly after starting up the motor. Turns out the oil cooler mount bracket was the problem.

Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

Also did a valve adjust and oil change after re-installing engine and confirming the leak was solved.

I hadn't driven this car since May of 2014. Next up is a steering box replacement, but it is plenty drivable now.

Got the steering box done. Feels much better now when turning.

Time to put some miles on this car before 2015 is over, and the snow starts flying.

Here are my totals for 2015:

1965 doubledoor panel bus: 387 mi.
1964 bug convertible: 154 mi.
1961 mango bus: 6,293 mi. That's the most I've ever put on this old bus in one season!

Here is the '61 mango bus, seaside in RI, while serving limo duty for a wedding on Dec. 12, 2015.

6,834 miles of vintage VW driving for me in 2015.

How many miles did you drive this year?
