I notched my hinges into the air box, but only after drilling one hole, then realizing I should have notched it. I used used some resin to fill the misdrilled hole. I'm fairly certain I had to modify the strut support also, but my buggy is in storage as of yesterday and I can't just walk to the garage to check. I think I had to do it the same as you show. I thought I'd remember all the details of building it, but my memory isn't what is used to be I guess.

Measure 12 times before you drill. The divots in the body are not exactly where the holes go. Make sure to use your template.
Maybe Brad can send some pictures of a finished Air Box..?
Here is today's progress

yep, storage. I drove it to the underground mine on Saturday. About 20-30 minutes away. It was 30 degrees. Multiple layers, hat, gloves, and seat heaters and I still froze my butt off. It won't be 70 here again until June! I wish. _________________ Manxter #122

Your pivot brackets look off about the same as mine were. I didn't have to grind anything off the driver's side, but I ground quite a bit more off the passenger side.
Did you get the windshield mounted? Those upper 2 holes for the pivot bolts had me all puckered up. I put that off for days after I had it mocked up.
Does the edge of the dash cover the tub edge completely? The point closest to the passenger compartment has a small gap on both sides of the dash on mine. I never could get it just right. I think I see the same in this picture?

Looking good!

How come it seems like I spend more time picking up my tools and cleaning the garage than making progress? _________________ dbsmith

Brad,
Maybe just some finished pictures, so others have a more clear idea of installation techniques.
Thanks. _________________ dbsmith

I plan on painting painting the side bars, rear horn and misc metal pieces this weekend. Got all the welding completed last weekend.
The inside cage will go to the powder coater after Xmas. I'm thinking of a textured black semigloss or satin.

I was able to get the side bars, rear horn, bumpers and brackets mounted. The lower brackets on the front bumper needed to be bent to fit correctly.

If everything works out today, I'm going to be dipping a toe in this pool.
