Ah, I think I figured out what I'm seeing in the pictures. I must have missed the fuel line replacement thread. I wish I knew this trick before I did mine. I replaced the entire old line, reattaching the new to the same points as the old. What a pain.

What is the plan for barwork ? Did you cut the side rails to suit the lift kit ? Rear Yoke ? |

Body washers on top... To be different.. Used on the bottom too.. I couldn't find any 3 1/2 " button head bolts, so I used a grade 8 bolts and instead of just a fender washer, I figured the body washer would give it some extra support . Saw it on another buggy and thought why not. .
The rear horn is extended and the side bars just need the welds grinded. I'm going to add some tabs to support the flex conduit for the electrical. The main roll bar needs the bungs welded in for the seat belt supports, mirror bracket and clamp fabricated for steering column.
When I bleed the brakes for the first time, to get all the air out of the system, I made a cap with a fitting and hooked up my air compressor hose with about 5 psi and slowly pushed the air out. Seem to work fairly well. Not too much pressure as I didn't want to blow up the reservoir.
Also fabricated the back of the Manxter emblem on the rear bumper to use as the 3rd brake light and running light. Needs to be blasted and painted. Ordered the LED lights and need to find a red lens.

Bookmarked, since I'll eventually be doing a Manxter Build, and a lot of this stuff applies to my Manx build I'll be doing soon, but I'm cheating. Having a lot of it farmed out. _________________ -(Loretta) Manx # M2940D910E on customized 1970 chassis by Joescoolcustoms

Sweet, it is starting to look like a buggy now.
Did you grind down your hardtop mount tabs ? If not make sure you grind the corners off before you paint your cage so the windscreen can sit back far enough. |

Outer corners.
When you sit the screen on you will see where it hits you need to grind it down so it lets the screen go back correctly to the top of the front hoop. Of you don't then it will make life hard to get it correct and seal it onto the roof section as well as align the bonnet. |

When I built my Manxter, kit #10, I followed Bruce's instructions and everything fit like a glove. The only modifications were when we mounted the side pods, we had to lightly grind on the body edge to get the matching contour for the pods.
Perhaps in the 10 years of using the mold there have been some changes in dimensions due to cleaning & mold repairs.

Ok, I think I'm going to dry fit the dash tub, windshield and top before I paint the roll cage.
I just want to make sure the clearances are correct on the windshield. The sides should be centered on the cage with about 1/4"-1/2" clear at the top bar. The windshield bolts just to the dash tub and NOT to the body.
I'll make sure to grid the top support on the cage to allow the windshield a better fit.
Sound correct? _________________ dbsmith

No it's not going to be a monster buggy. Let's just say it's sporting work boots instead of high heels. _________________ dbsmith

David,
I would definitely dry fit the windshield before painting the cage. I only had to grind the passenger side tab on the roll bars, the one the bolt goes through to secure the front of the roof, the hinge point. If I didn't grind it away, the windshield surround would not have sat back as far as it should have, would not have wrapped around the top of the roll bar enough. I tried to detail my experience in my build thread, but it's difficult in typing, versus just doing. The hinge point tabs on my roll bar were not symmetrical, and I didn't notice this until after I had the roll bar powder coated and bolted in place, while attempting to fit the windshield.
Your build is coming along great, looks really nice!
