Hey guys I am trying to find a way that is not super complicated or involved for keeping my car from getting stolen. I was thinking the club that goes around your brake or clutch, but now that I think about it the car can be shifted into neutral and pushed and they can use the parking brake for stopping. I have an aftermarket short empi shifter so I don't think I can install one of those shifter locks I see online. What are some good options? |

Forget "The Club", all a thief needs is some bolt cutters to cut through the steering wheel, bye bye. If a thief want's something bad enough he'll get it. However you can get a remote disconnect for the battery or a manual fuel shutoff valve. Pop the distributor cap and pocket the rotor when ever you park. Never drive it anywhere and leave it in the garage. |

depending on what year of car you have is a factor in some of the things
but there is steering locks, shifter locks, battery disconnects, fuel disconnects, locking trunk cable pull, locking glove box, installing hidden brake line lock, etc...
if someone really wants your car they will get it all of these devices only stop the small time crooks and/or joyriding kids _________________ '60 15 window walkthrough

I'm sorry but no battery cut off will work against a tow truck or trailer...
If a thief wants it, they'll get it.
In my opinion the best deterrent is possibly a shift lock or hidden brake lock like mentioned... it'll slow them down a lot better then a fuel/battery cut off.
I also like the second amendment. _________________ ✠Miklo✠

Shift locks have saved my bug twice. The first was a Wolfsburg West lock on a stock shifter. When they tried again I had a Berg locking shifter and they were thwarted again. I don't miss the big city! (but it could still happen out here in the country, if they get past my dogs, and my neighbor's also!) _________________ OK Thang |

I have the club, it won't stop a professional thief but it adds to the degree of effort involved to steal it for an amateur. |

The Club is like airport security - it makes YOU feel safe, but has no real effect.
It literally only adds about 3-4 seconds to the time it takes them to steal your car. _________________ Mother Nature is a Mean Evil Bitch! |

The club is worthless. You can cut thru a steering wheel with a hack saw in 10-15 seconds. Steering wheels by law are required to be made of soft metal so they will bent in an accident and not kill you. _________________ 2017 Street Comp Champion - Thunder Valley Raceway Park - Noble, OK
