So I was stumbling thru the digital wasteland today and came across this... Has anyone seen this trailer for the upcoming VW oval TV special? Looks extremely interesting and definatly looks like one to set your DVR for...

I met Manu (current owner of the car) in SLC this September with Burly and he showed us some of the pictures and documents from the original owner of the car. He's a wonderfull guy and trying to rasie a lot of money for Sick Childrens Hospital in Toronto.
I've already got my PVR programmed.

Would love to see it or know when it's coming to TV in the US. I just googled it, and saw the premiere dates for Canada, but not even a hint to US dates.

I too am anxious to see this story in full length ( I have the book by Paul Loof, great read!). This VW has so much history it is amazing. Sure hope the TV show translates over the border into the US. Manu will be bringing this 55 VW back to Bonneville in September of 2014 to add to the cars history by racing in the 36hp Challenge. Gonna be fun............

This documentary will be very cool. Manu is a friend of mine and got me a copy of the original owner (Wolfgang Paul Loofs) book "In His Hands" It is a very cool story of this 55 oval travelling across the globe three times! Manu continues to use the car as intended. He drove in the dead of winter over 9 hours to achieve the cool footage in the movie, visiting Paul and bringing him to tears!. The salt is the next segment in the cars adventures.... This oval has gone to hell and back many times

Seeing as it seems as if it may not be on all TV systems, (I have Optimum here in New York) will he be selling copies on. BluRay or DVD?

| I'm trying to figure out if you can purchase it from discovery. You can buy shows that air on discovery in the store. But I'm not sure if it includes what is aired in Canada. I sent discovery an email. Will let you know what I hear back from them. |

Hmm kind of looking like this may be a Canada only thing. Shows up in the Canadian schedules but not the US schedules... This sucks..!

But at least it looks like in February sometime after it airs it's slated to be hosted in a separate documentary microsite somewhere... Hope that won't be Canada only either...

I have been watching Bravo TV today. They are running the commercial for VIN 903847 about once an hour. Can't wait!
