Hello everyone.
I recently moved to Arizona and Im looking to re jet my 71 bus. Its a 1955cc with dual 40 solex carbs on it. If memory serves its a c25 or c35 scat cam. with ratio rockers scat heads, 009 style distributor and dual quiet pack exhaust. Van was originally jetted for 6000 ft im now closer to 1400 ft. Based on my initial research it looks like a 130 main and 55 idle jets and possibly 28 venturi? would get me close. The company I got the jets from for the old altitude sanded of the jet markings so i have no real baseline as to what is in the van currently. More than willing to do my own research/experimenting just want to get a base to start with thats not going to run lean and cook the motor.
Thanks |

It might be worth investing in a set of jet drills at this point. You can use the dull end of each bit to size the jets you have, and you can richen the mixture by drilling any fuel jets larger. (Which is probably what you’ll end up doing coming down in elevation anyway.)
Good luck,

Do yourself a favor and buy jets, unless you plan to re-label your jets after drilling. Or someone (possible you) will end very confused why they can't find the right size jet because they think their jet is smaller than it actually is. _________________ Brutis Patches Izabich: 1970 VW Transporter - 1776cc DP
