If for a second you think your like is hard, jsut think what she's gone through in the past 3 years. _________________ Glenn

Tomorrow's the event. Please push the total over $4000.. i'm really close. No donation is too small, or too large. Those $5 and $10 donations do add up.
Thanks to all that have donated. _________________ Glenn

Just a few quick pics and i'll post more later.

What an amazing event. The energy and positive vibe fills the room.
The survivor stories really make you think how strong people are. But the kids stories bring a lot of strong emotions to the surface and just makes you want to try to raise more donations next year.
Sue was invited to ride the "Founder's" Bike. We knew she'd have to take it easy and guessed she'd ride it for 5-10 minutes.... WRONG, she rode it for the entire 45 minute session.
Here's some numbers, I raised, with thanks to you, $3715. Team Gray Matter raised $19,770. Cycle for Survival has grown to 13 cities and this year has raised $19,154,303 and $50,600,000 since it started in 2007. 100% of the funds raised go directly to research for rare cancers and have funded 85 clinical trials and research studies.
YOU made a difference and I hope I can count on you next year and the year after that until there's no longer a reason for this event. _________________ Glenn

Thanks to Gary Wise and Mike Fisher for your donations. You put the team over the $20,000 mark. _________________ Glenn

It's that time again, this will be the 3rd year i'm participating in Cycle for Survival.
My friend Sue is doing well and still fighting. But my mother was diagnosed with a GIST tumor and had surgery to have it removed. In the followup they found she also had lung cancer.
This just shows that you never know when cancer will strike.
100% of your donation goes to research, not paying high salaries or any administrative cost.
Cycle for Survival has a team and personal web page, you can read about the event, where the money goes and some of the reasons why i'm doing this.

No amount is too small.
We have all been personally touched by cancer and with more research we can offer those suffering from it with hope and quality of life. _________________ Glenn

Im a cancer surviver.almost totaly effed up by the dr's.not somuch by the cancer.but recently most of what I have seen and checked into as far as the fundrasing the$$ well 100% gos to fundraising and addminastration. so...I no longer support it unless I know exzactly where it is going.I did receve all most enough $ to cover a months power bill form the american cancer whatever it is that says it helps&supports.well they were not lieing, they could of bought me a coke and it would be true. there are so mant scams out there.I just cant do it any more.but!!! I do give localy in a few ways, to the person/family, to the fund for that person/family along witn the woulded warrior foundation. you have to ask the right questions to the right person to find out just where ,who, and what your money is doing or going to. I wish you luck and hope it gets to where it should go. |

Wounded warrior has a high percentage going to administrative expenses.
Cycle for Survival has 100% of the funds go to research.
Quote: |
One hundred percent (100%) of every dollar raised by Cycle for Survival goes directly to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center for rare cancer research, benefiting patients worldwide. |

We had one member drop off the team but my son's fiance stepped up and is riding in honor of her father who's fighting his 3rd cancer.
Another team member has been cancer free for 7 years and is healthy enough to participate.
My friend Sue, who's has been fighting brain cancer for 4 years, 3 longer than they thought she's last, is having reconstruction surgery tomorrow after battling breast cancer 18 months ago.
Please donate if you can. Even $5 donations are helpful.
