Was leaving work and feeling good, after warming up I started playing andpoli wot to 6 grand. 1641 Engle110 single high rev springs with chromoly caps and retainers, merged exhaust and stinger.

Pulling, pulling still pulling...then flat on its face and lean pops off idle and higher revs..
A few days later,a friend says it might be my condenser..engine was cool, so I changed it out..
All was good in the world.

Today, a 240 sx tried me...I was winning, then the same thing happened...this time with shame that the people in the 240 thought they took me on the top end.

I noticed this time that my a/f meter pegging red and lean when I give it gas and off idle. It idles fine. Facet fuel pump near back of car, New gas tank 1 year ago, both done by po.

Yes it sounds like you are running out of fuel.
What kind of system do you have to supply fuel to carbs?
Tank? fuel line size? Filters? Type of pump? Fuel volume to carbs? Vent on gas tank?
More information will help. .

Omg, the gas tank vent has a screw driver in the hose...plugging it.could it be that simple?

BINGO! Have you gone through the entire fuel system yourself? Clean intank screen, fresh hose and clear lines, non restrictive bends, tee and fittings, proper fuel pressure and gph?

No matter who leads you, they are still competing with an old aircooled VW Beetle. Who are they going to brag to? Wink

Facet fuel pump near back of car,

that's wrong, re-do it
if the gas in the tank sloshes and get a gulp of air it will take the poor faucet forever to suck it through the whole line and re-prime. mount the pump within one foot of the tank like it's supposed to be and it should work a whole lot better

I have a spare cb rotary pump I was going to use with my 2276, I might as well use it now and get another for the big motor.

The lack of a vent on the gas tank is causing suction and not allowing the gas to flow (ever put your finger over a straw while it is in liquid-that suction will impede flow).

Ensure tank has a working vent, dump the Facet pump "near the rear" (electric pumps do not suck well) and put a Carter rotary pump (Carter P60504) as close to tank as possible (in flat area behind right front wheel).... Electric pumps are really good at pushing fuel but not sucking fuel (although the do suck) ....

Also consider that a good stock mechanical pump will be more then enough to supply your carb/engine combination... IF you are using a electric pump in fear that or have been told a mechanical pump will not supply enough fuel, then that is your first problem (misconception)...

Good mechanical pump will supply a 2300cc motor with dual Weber IDA's long enough to shut down any car you choose to come up against..... Only reason to ever run a electric pump is if your case is a FI case with no fuel pump boss machined in...

That is a Carter P60504 in real life , just repackaged as CB rotary... GOOD pump, better than a Facet pump ever ...
