Wow - that interior looks very nice and correct. Is that the original floor mat or did you dye a WW mat? It looks great _________________ Stop dead photo links! Post your photos to The Samba Gallery! |

Hey Erik,
Glad you like the interior. Here's how I pulled off the "correct" red floor mat. It's Wolfsburg West's grey mat that I colored. It's holding up great to normal wear, so it might be the way to go.
First I wiped the new grey mat down with acetone to prep it and then following instructions on the can, gave it three coats of SEM Color Coat in Portola Red (15363).
I also made my own carpet kit but that's a whole other story. |

Here is my new 61'. This is right after it came off the trailer after bringing it back 9 hrs from Montana. It is in the process of getting all new brakes, lines, and wheels/tires but more on that later...

That is really cool, the colored matt. I am looking to do similar to my green floor matt in my 61 Bug. I looked at SEM Color Coat color chart and don't see any greens offered. does anyone have a recommendation on how to obtain a green floor matt flexible paint such as the SEM color coat that was used on this fantastic red matt? _________________ Help Prevent VW Engine Fires, see this link.....Engine safety wire information

I'm thinking of painting my 63 L87 Pearl White. Is it harder to lay down a pearl white paint job than a non-pearl? Going to be my first attempt at a paint job |
