the hole to the left of the levers was where my 59 had it placed.
look from the trunk area to see if you find any holes. so many things happen over the years.
these were not federally mandated and were an option from the factory as was the reverser switch |

Similar problems to mine. Poor prior repairs, lots of rust. I'm at the stage of making and fitting patch panels before the big jobs - heater channels and rockers - start next week. It looks like the two of us will be kept busy for some time.
Good luck from here on. I'll be following your progress. _________________ Festina lente - hasten slowly

Very impressive. I've watched similar work being carried out on my car but by professionals. i doff my hat to you, taking this on yourself
I need a favour, please. Could you please provide the measurements for the holes in the door skins where the chrome trim has to be fitted? I have new doorskins and we need to drill the holes before the car goes to paint. I need the distance from the edge of the door to the first set (2) of holes on each side (front of the door and the back), and then the distances between the holes.
I hope you won't mind. _________________ Festina lente - hasten slowly

Sensational work, I am going to have to do some similar body work including new nose, new heater channels and even repairing the speaker holes in the parcel shelf. _________________ 1962 Karmann Ghia

Fabulous! Body so straight; paint so shiny! Is the color ruby red, which was one of the factory offerings for 1964? |
