30th Anniversary VW Spring Meet
at History San Jose in Kelley Park
April 6, 2014
The Golden Gate Chapter of the Vintage Volkswagen Club of America will be hosting their 30th Annual Spring Meet at History San Jose at Kelley Park in San Jose on Sunday, April 6 from 8 am to 3 pm. All air-cooled VWs are welcome.
All cars entering the park MUST pre-register for the car show and MUST park in their respective class. We will again be providing pre-registration this year. There is a slight change this year in pre-registration. You'll be able to pre-register your car but not pay upfront. You'll pay at the gate the morning of the show.
Please note there is NO alcohol, NO pets, and NO BBQs allowed inside the park. These are park rules and must be obeyed.
The Quality Inn, located in Morgan Hill will be the host hotel and security will be provided. For reservations please call 888-434-1444 or call the hotel directly at 408-779-0447.
Car + driver = $20. Add $5 for each adult passenger.
Car + driver + single swap space* = $30. Add $5 for each adult passenger.
Car + driver + double swap space* = $50. Add $5 for each adult passenger.
* Swap space size is determined by the size of the vehicle.
General admission $5.
Children under 12 free.
Seniors 65 and older $3.

Why even bother with pre-register then, just make it first come first serve and throw that clip board list away since she can never find your name on it anyways.
So no we have to wait for the fumble of the pre-register clip board and the fumble of people trying to give money and get change....

Holy Crap! The car capacity has been reached? Amazing! It's a great show, and I guess I'm not surprised. I always fly out West for this one, my personal season opener.
I'll be volunteering to help staff again, and I'm be parking Transporters with volunteer Rick Clark. So say hi as we guide you Type 2 guys into your parked position. Hell, bring us some donuts!
Great show, great weekend! I can't wait to get out there!

Just to let everyone know, this Saturday (April 5th) is San Jose's Bugformance spring BBQ event.
FREE FOOD AND DRINKS!
We just ask that people buy something from our store- everything is 20% off INCLUDING SPECIAL ORDERS! A lot of things can be ordered same day and arrive same day, other things are next day, just to let people know.
We can order both VW and AUDI parts, along with a variety of other makes and models for parts.
This is a partial "show your car" and "hang out to reconnect with the local VW shop" event, so expect some cool cars to show up. Last year we had a lot of people show up, I hope the same is true this year.

I have never attended this show but I will be in area attending the red barn event the day before. I will be driving my bus up from San Diego and if I'm reading everything right since registration is full can I assume that I won't be allowed to attend show in my bus?
I have heard about this show in past but never realized you had to pre-register

Anyone going to bail and not make this let me know!
Love Kelley park and think the world of the setup they have there.
Might consider a new venue that would allow more participants..Just sayin!

Space at the show is limited, due to restrictions that the City of San Jose has for the venue. But there will be room for cars that are not pre-registered....they just don't know how many. In the past, the club was able to "shoehorn" most everyone that arrived. Best advice...come early and get in line. You'll probably get in....

The club has discussed moving to a larger venue. But the Kelley Park venue is so unique to our area. Moving to another location would change the character and "feel" of this show. So we stay and struggle with space limitations....
