. Got the engine put back together and detailed, and then hooked it up to remote gas tank. Fired right up and ran well. So then me and the boy took it out for a spin, got a lot of crazy looks driving around in the pan......he. He.. But lots of fun...now back to body work. Yuck!

Not the best quality pain or spray job but we are pretty happy with it. Going to go back over it with orange to cove over spray areas, and then hit it with clear.

I know know what the Amish feel like when moving a house. We trie to lift and place body on frame with just me and my son, but no dice couldn't clear the motor. So then we got smart and cribbed the body up with blocks and boards and it made the process so very nice and easy. Any how body and frame are reunited and everything seems to fit up nicely.

We are learning together on this one, I have a pretty good knowledge of general auto repair and such but this is my first VW as well. Also thanks for the compliments on the paint, it is def a 15 footer but not bad for our first paint job and cheapo duplicolor paint.

Going for a hybrid, part baja and part class 11 mostly due to money issues and parts on hand. We will see how it turns out.

Windows and wiring, fun fun. Using a rebel harness and so far so good. Window seals were an pain in the ass, they were new seals but in long ago sealed packages which warped them. I heated them up and put them on the windows several times only to have them pop off as soon as I was finished. Could not get the windshield seal to work and ordered a new one from j bugs, oh what a difference to work with good seals, instead of hours to get a window installed it took only minutes.....
